OHB LuxSpace is looking for motivated candidates to join our team for an exciting opportunity as:

Embedded Software Engineer (m/f/o)

In order to further reinforce and expand its project and program activities, LuxSpace is recruiting a Software Engineer with focal expertise and working experience in Embedded Software.

The Embedded Software Engineer shall complete our team to contribute to the design and implementation of LuxSpace next generation micro satellites and space solutions.

Job Profile:
Being member of a multinational team of dedicated engineers, the Embedded Software Engineer will provide support to Project Managers responsible for the design and implementation of related space and ground support systems.

The Embedded Software Engineer will be in particular responsible for the development of software for space applications in its overall life cycle.

Typical Tasks to be performed:

  • Software specification, design, implementation and testing
  • Preparation and provision of reports, documentation and operational procedures.
  • Other tasks and duties assigned by manager(s)
  • Temporarily or permanently performing other reasonable and equivalent duties

Qualifications


Ideal Candidate Qualifications, Skills and Background: 

  • Profound experience in embedded software development and understanding of embedded electronics
  • Excellent knowledge and work experience in C programming language
  • Experience with embedded RTOS (e.g. VxWorks, RTEMS, QNX, etc.)
  • Experience in software development for flight software
  • Experience in software development for critical systems
  • Knowledge of modelling standards (such as UML, SysML)
  • Knowledge of other object-oriented programming languages (such as C++, Java) will be considered an asset
  • Ability to design efficient low-level software drivers (low memory footprint, code size optimized, low CPU overhead)
  • Ability to debug software with debuggers
  • Proficient use of lab tools like Oscilloscope, waveform generator, power supply, and other measurement equipment’s (multi-meters, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of space systems; a comprehensive working experience in space and satellite systems is considered an asset

 

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • University degree (Bachelor/Master/Diploma) or equivalent education plus relevant proven work experience
  • 3+ years of work experience in industry or relevant professional environment (space, aeronautics, automotive etc.)
  • Willingness to learn new tools and systems
  • Excellent sense of responsibility and confidentiality
  • Structured hands-on work-approach
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work autonomously
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Languages: Good English language skills (spoken and written), German and/or French knowledge considered an asset
