Senior Electronics Hardware / Firmware Engineer – Luxembourg Space Industry (m/f/o)

For the design and development of its space borne Avionic units (e.g.: On-Board Computer (OBC)), LuxSpace is recruiting for permanent employment an experienced (7y +) Electronics Engineer from the industry or space domain.

Job Profile:

An experienced embedded electronics developer with emphasis on on-board computer, peripheries & interfaces. Experience in embedded FPGA firmware development is considered a must. Knowledge of Xilinx System on Chips (SoC) is considered a plus.

Activities comprise:

• Firmware development for SoC including requirements and architectural engineering
• Support to schematics and layout design

Required Skills and Tasks to be performed:

• Firmware development
• Embedded system hardware architecture design
• Digital signal processing
• Digital circuit design
• Close collaboration with embedded software development and system engineering
• Use of simulation tools for design and analysis of digital circuits
• Elaboration of requirement specification. Flow down from unit- to board level requirements and their justification
• Provision of design documentation like: Technical notes, design description, worst case analysis etc.
• Review of design documentation from external suppliers and participation to review meetings

Candidate Profile:

• University Degree (Master/Diploma/PhD) or equivalent education in Electronics plus relevant proven work experience
• 7+ years of work experience in industry or relevant professional environment (e.g. space, aeronautics, automotive)
• Working knowledge of embedded systems
• Working knowledge of digital electronics (microprocessors, memories etc.)
• Working knowledge of digital communication standards
• Good communication and writing skills
• Self-motivated; taking responsibility and being proactive
• Hands-on mentality and experience
• Methodical, results-oriented work approach
• Ability to work and interface with a multinational team
• Willingness to work flexible in line with project needs and schedules
• Willingness to travel for business
• Languages: Good English language skills (spoken and written), German and/or French knowledge considered an asset
• EU citizenship or valid work permission Luxembourg
