Job Description

Project Manager - Earth Observation - Space Industry
LuxSpace Satellite Service & Application department develops and operates innovative services solutions based on space technologies for commercial and institutional customers around the world.

In order to further reinforce and expand its project and program activities, LuxSpace is recruiting for immediate employment a Project manager “Earth Observation” with hands on experience and knowledge of EO data processing, application development and project management.

Tasks to be performed:

  • Acquisition and managing remote sensing and GIS projects, in particular hyperspectral EO
  • Identification, assessment and development of EO applications in different domains such as agriculture, environment, land cover, maritime, Oil & Gas or forestry
  • Lead on EO data processing
  • Proposal/bid writing and management (ESA/EU/national programs)
  • Project planning and project management

Qualifications


Required Skills and Background:

  • Strong focus on user driven EO application solutions
  • State of the art knowledge of remote sensing and image processing techniques (multi/hyperspectral EO, SAR, GIS)
  • Knowledge in processing chain design, time series processing, cloud infrastructures and product validation are an advantage 
  • Working experience with international authorities (EU, ESA etc.)
  • Familiar with ESA BASS projects, Copernicus services, data, institutions and working experience with European / international organisations (i.e. ESA, EC, WB, EEA)

 

Candidate Profile:

  • University degree, diploma or equivalent education in Earth Observation, geo- or environmental science plus relevant proven work experience
  • 5+ years of work experience in industry or relevant professional environment
  • Good communication, presentation and writing skills
  • Methodical work-approach, results-oriented
  • Self-motivated; taking responsibility and being proactive
  • Ability to work and interface with a multinational team
  • Willingness to work flexible in line with project needs and schedules
  • Willingness to travel
  • Languages: Good English language skills (spoken and written), German and/or French knowledge considered an asset
  • EU citizenship or work permission Luxembourg
