Job Description

RF Systems Engineer - Space Industry (m/f)

In the course of enforcing and expanding its satellite subsystem and system competence, LuxSpace is recruiting an experienced RF Systems Engineer.

Job Profile:
An experienced RF Systems Engineer is required to participate in RF systems engineering. The actual engineering tasks are located in the TT&C subsystem – with an extension to RF-payload development for LuxSpace own micro satellites. Activities comprise requirements and architectural engineering of communication subsystems as well as representing LuxSpace towards the customer, ESA and sub-contractors.

Tasks to be performed:

  • Work package management
  • Requirements engineering, -analysis and -specification. Flow down from System- to Equipment- requirements and their justification
  • EMC/EMI-Worst Case- FMECA analysis
  • RF Simulation on system level
  • RF System performance analysis and trade-off studies
  • Provision of design documentation like, e.g.: technical notes, design description & justification
  • Participation and chairing of review meetings
  • Technical Interfacing with customer, prime, ESA

Qualifications

Candidate Profile, Skills and Qualities:

  • University degree (Master/Diploma) or equivalent
  • Experience of RF systems in general, TT&C in particular
  • Experience in RF communications systems and equipment, gained in a professional position, preferably in the space industry
  • Good communication capabilities, analytical sense, priority setting
  • Methodical work-approach, results-oriented
  • Self-motivated; taking responsibility and being proactive
  • Ability to interface with and/or lead a multinational team
  • Willingness to travel
  • Languages: Good English language skills (spoken and written), German and/or French knowledge considered an asset
  • EU citizenship or valid Luxembourg work permit mandatory (for nationals from non-EU-countries or countries treated as such). Non-EU citizens without valid Luxembourg work permit cannot be taken into consideration.
