Job Overview
The Email Marketing Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day execution, management, reporting and optimization of the email marketing channel to drive new client engagement and retention. The ideal candidate has a data-driven analytical mindset, a passion for understanding the customer journey and hands-on experience with email marketing. He or she should view the role from an E-CRM perspective, focusing on leveraging email to enhance customer lifetime value and to engage new customers.
The Email Marketing Manager will manage the day-to-day execution of our email marketing newsletters, trigger campaigns, and transactional emails in line with brand standards and KPIs. He or she will report to the Director of Performance Marketing and will be responsible for the email-marketing calendar, building email campaigns, customer segmentation, email reporting and analytics, and quality assurance of all outbound campaigns.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented with a proven track record in email marketing. This individual must be proactive, resourceful, flexible and able to think strategically while driving implementation. Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage regular contact with email service provider (Bronto) to ensure best practices are met, campaigns are triggering properly, and any trouble shooting needs are handled immediately
- Develop and execute email marketing campaigns for a current active list of 2MM+, designed to drive deeper customer relationships and engagement
- Own development, maintenance, and review of transactional emails
- Work closely and effectively with cross-functional teams to efficiently and effectively bring new programs to fruition.
- Collaborate with content team on design, copy and email messaging; become a brand champion across all communications
- Oversee management of weekly reporting and KPIs, flagging any issues and proposing solutions as needed, and identifying top and bottom performing campaigns
- Manage subscriber data and customer segments, ensuring high level of data hygiene
- Conduct QA reviews to test for functionality and rendering quality; regularly monitor campaigns to validate deliverability
- Conduct analysis of email communications landscape, including industry competition and best practices; ideate and present opportunities for testing and learning
- Manage campaign calendar and communicate with internal stakeholders regarding timing, scope, and costs
- Identify and prioritize opportunities for new trigger campaigns
- Create test and learn plans to optimize messaging, design, cadence, etc. for different target audiences. Report on results and drive ongoing optimization
Qualifications
Additional Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in email marketing at a consumer brand with demonstrated success in executing high volume, integrated email marketing programs. Fashion or lifestyle marketing experience a plus.
- Knowledge and prior use of email management platforms required
- Proven ability to organize and scrutinize a large quantity of data, interpret metrics and derive actionable insights.
- Demonstrated understanding of CAN-SPAM requirements, HTML, email best practices and inbox deliverability.
- Advanced excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, VLookup), to cross reference and validate email recipients.
- Highly self-motivated and directed with experience working in a fast paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Ability to offer flexibility in schedule, understanding some projects may require additional work during evenings and some weekends.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills and ability to create and maintain detailed documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
