Job Description

Main Responsibilities

  • Have a commercial mindset
  • Knowledge of imported pulses used in the market and their price parity with Indian pulses.
  • Ability to analyze Indian pulses balance sheet and highlight sales opportunities
  • Ability to formulate marketing strategy to achieve sales in the region/India.
  • Ensure performance of contracts and flag any concerns arising out of adverse market moves
  • Train other marketing staff in office from succession planning standpoint
  • Understand downstream markets and incorporate the information in trading discussion
  • Collaborate with other grain team or sales staff to create and position risk management solutions for producers and members.
  • Managing and expanding relationships in the value chain across the country
  • Able to work with targets with an attitude to surpass them.
  • Daily & Weekly Cash Flow management & Reporting. 
  • Understanding of various business strategies, documentation, agreement around the same.
  • Ensure key control around the transaction and regularly review the same.
  • Must have exposure and good relations with domestic pulses market and connects with key decision makers.
  • Origination and marketing strength
  • Experience in marketing pulses pan India or region.

Experience

  • 7-8 relevant years or equivalent in Agri commodities trading.
  • Grain marketing specialists can work for large grain companies, smaller elevators and cooperatives, commodity marketers, or agricultural risk management programs.

Other skills (Computer Skills, etc)

  • Good listing skills - patience to resolve interdepartmental conflicts
  • Strong relationships and network with the main sources and counterparties across the entire Pulses value chain across India
  • Understanding of physical processing of Pulses
  • Understanding of exports and exposure to international markets is an added advantage
  • Proven Track record with a strong understanding of risk management
  • Growth mindset with prior experience in Trading preferred

Qualifications

  •  MBA, Master’s degree, or bachelor’s degree (Master’s is preferred) in agribusiness, marketing, agricultural economics, logistics, or agronomy is required.
