Job Description
An exciting opportunity exists for a Leading Hand to join our Country Operations team at our Goolgowi site. Reporting to the Site Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the safe, efficient, and effective operation of grain storage facilities while providing leadership and guidance to site operators.
This hands-on role requires a high level of autonomy, initiative, and teamwork. You will contribute to daily grain receival, storage, and outturn activities while promoting a strong safety culture and supporting operational excellence across the site.

Key responsibilities will be but not limited to:
- Coordinate and participate in grain receival operations.
- Assist with grain outturning and loading activities to meet customer and operational requirements.
- Support grain quality management, storage husbandry, hygiene, and fumigation activities.
- Lead and support small teams to ensure daily operational objectives are achieved safely and efficiently.
- Operate site machinery and equipment, including front-end loaders and telehandlers.
- Conduct routine housekeeping, maintenance, and general site administration duties.
- Identify, report, and manage workplace hazards and safety risks.
- Participate in Toolbox Talks, safety meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate operational records and documentation as required.
Desired skills and experience:
- Previous experience within the grain, agriculture, logistics, or bulk handling industry.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead small operational teams.
- Strong commitment to workplace health, safety, and environmental practices.
- Sound problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
- Ability to follow procedures while adapting to changing operational priorities.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Flexible approach to work and the ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment.
Qualifications
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Front End Loader Licence (preferred).
- Telehandler Licence (preferred).
- Fumigation/Pest Control Accreditation (preferred).
- Confined Space Entry Certification (preferred).
- Grain Classification experience or qualification (preferred).
- Previous grain industry experience desirable but not essential.
