Job Description

Your missions:

Management of customers’ inbound and outbound cargo files, as well as the commercial relationship with the customer. The Account Manager serves as the single logistics point of contact for the customer, with a focus on providing a comprehensive range of services. 

 

Your responsibilities:

- Management of inbound and outbound goods flows using the available software systems 

- Communication with agents, shipping lines, and transport operators 

- Reporting all actions taken to the customer 

- Stock follow-up, registration, and confirmation of purchases and sales carried out by the customer 

- Placing orders with transport providers and operational departments 

- Issuing orders for the preparation of customs documents; independently preparing basic customs documents 

- Preparation of specific certificates 

- Issuing orders for sampling requests and sample shipments 

- Invoicing and reporting related to invoicing 

- Optimisation of processes 

 

Additional activities:

In addition to the specific responsibilities, the Account Manager is also responsible for carrying out the following activities. These additional responsibilities apply only after acquiring the necessary years of experience and knowledge, or after completing the required training programme. 

- Acting as the commercial point of contact for the customer, including periodic customer meetings and day-to-day communication; maintaining relationships and business with existing customers 

- Preparing and developing pricing structures, including the associated annual price negotiations 

- Maintaining and setting up pricing schedules in Business Central 

- Expanding existing business with current customers 

- Internally developing new business opportunities for existing customers 

- Discussing commercial issues with the Product Manager 

- Handling and following up on complaints and disputes 

- Monitoring customers’ DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) 

 

Qualifications

Your profile:

Specific Requirements 

- Product knowledge of soft commodities such as coffee, cocoa, nuts, etc. 

- Knowledge of working methods for organic products and awareness of food safety 

- Knowledge of LIFFE files and NYBOT (ICE) files 
 

Skills 

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent through experience 

- Knowledge of Dutch and English; additional languages are an asset 

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and communication tools (email, telephone, internet, etc.) 

- Knowledge of specific MBN software, including Business Central
