Job Description
The person will be is responsible for managing the operation of all facility equipment: boilers, fixed compressors, mobile compressors, air conditioners, diesel engines, and pumps in trucks, railcars, extensions 2 and 3, as well as all electrical and control panels, to ensure the proper functioning of all the above-mentioned equipment and to report any technical problems to the on-site maintenance team
Main responsibilities:
▪ The main function is to ensure the safe and proper operation of the facilities and to ensure that production equipment and infrastructure are always operational.
▪ Assist the maintenance team in developing, implementing, and monitoring preventive maintenance programs and plans for equipment and facilities. Plan preventive maintenance services with the production manager.
▪ Collaborate with operations and production employees to improve equipment capabilities in terms of efficiency, reliability, and throughput.
▪ Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps and electrical panels.
▪ Monitor tank levels and temperatures using the control system.
▪ Maintenance of portable electric machines.
▪ Assist the officer operator in managing vessel operations (unloading/loading).
▪ Maintain annual certification for all maintenance licenses as necessary; certify other individuals as necessary.
▪ Plans and supervises external maintenance and repair contractors and services.
▪ Ensures company compliance with applicable federal and state regulations.
▪ Actively participate in monthly safety committee meetings and work with the safety committee chair and members to address safety needs.
▪ Collaborate with operations to develop the department's annual equipment maintenance schedule.
▪ This position may require overtime to complete assigned tasks and ensure the proper functioning and safety of the facilities.
▪ Maintain a log of equipment usage and operating hours.
▪ Read the user manuals for all equipment and work accordingly.
▪ Operate, maintain key equipment such as boiler, product pumps, Generator, firefighting pumps, electrical panels, compressors
Other skills and abilities:
▪ Develop a planned preventive maintenance (PPM) program, ensure that preventive maintenance is carried out in full, schedule missed maintenance activities, and lead the team to work efficiently
▪ Audit and ensure compliance with technical data systems
▪ Plan internal and external work, maximizing planned downtime and reducing unplanned downtime.
▪ Manage the team to ensure machine availability, reactively manage defective machines with team leadership.
▪ Optimize equipment in accordance with standard procedures, improve performance and product quality, and ensure that all key performance indicators (KPIs) are met
▪ Ensure that calibration and routine maintenance requirements for a variety of electromechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems are met.
▪ Ensure that designated buildings, facilities, and equipment are fit for purpose and provide proactive support/solutions when necessary.
▪ Manage the storage of system and equipment data and maintain high standards and accuracy
▪ Manage the process of introducing new machines, facilities, and equipment, from developing specifications to managing suppliers and completing installation, in collaboration with all relevant parties.
▪ Participate in various meetings and implement/communicate instructions.
▪ Write reports and give presentations.
▪ Complete training and continuous development programs assigned by the company.
▪ Perform root cause analyses and resolve problems.
▪ Identify opportunities for improvement of activities within the organization.
▪ Provide technical expertise to the team.
▪ Maintain appropriate documentation for all orders.
▪ Stay informed of any changes that may affect the supply and demand of necessary products and materials and inform others of any impact.
▪ Ensure that key performance indicators are met by working in accordance with the overall plan, including managing and communicating information.
▪ Conduct risk assessments related to department processes and tasks.
Qualifications
Experience:
- Five to eight years of professional experience in maintenance and operations Knowledge: Good knowledge of equipment operation and troubleshooting.
Education:
- BTS Electromechanic diploma preferred and four years of experience in the same field.
Languages:
- English and French
Systems:
- Electromechanics – Boilers – Compressors – Reverse osmosis plants – Generators – MCC rooms
Technical/functional skills:
- Extensive experience in installations with significant and proven experience in personnel management
- Completed comprehensive training in the mechanical/electrical/electronic field
- Technical skills and understanding with boiler, weighbridge, Tank gauging, compressors, pumps and generators
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
