Job Description
As Commercial Manager - Grains & Oilseed - Middle East and North Africa, your main responsibilities will be as follows:
- Lead the commercial teams in Middle East North Africa (MENA) region for Grains & Oilseeds (G&O).
- Provide strategic inputs and execution support to achieve commercial objectives and goals.
- Tap on strong local market insights to develop and drive future-focused growth strategy.
- Build customer-focus and customer-centricity in the business model.
- Lead deployment of customer-led business strategy for the long term competitive positioning and business sustainability.
- Explore asset-enabled growth strategy with the goal to maximize business profitability.
- Expand market and customer networks and explore commercial opportunities in new products and new markets.
- Responsible for delivering destination PNL comprising CNF, Handling, Distribution and local Origination/Merchandising activities, wherever applicable.
- Build added value solutions portfolio for the business and lead solution deployment for enhancing customer’s experience and maximizing customer profitability in the business.
- Develop strong market linkages for capturing market insights, macro factors and trends, industry practices and regulatory policies to build effective strategies and commercial game plans. In addition, leverage commercial insights to draw S&D impacts and trade ideas in real time and cross-commodity.
- Oversee the destination risk management from local environment (Credit risk, Compliance, Government policies and Regularly framework), customer exposures and build effective relationships with various destination stakeholders.
- Directly oversee the Strategic Account Plans for the targeted Strategic and Key customers and drive strategies and tactical plans to build high customer engagement.
- Promote strategies intended to maximize profitability through customer solutions, and innovations. Build collaboration and partnerships with other business units to enhance commercial interactions and deliver solutions to the targeted customers.
- Align customer analytics and business intelligence with the global product line objectives and business strategy.
- Build strong talent pools in the responsible geographies and ensure teams have required competencies to deliver business results.
- Build a strong collaborative work culture and winning together approach in the team.
- Be an effective coach and mentor to develop the talent pipeline in the commercial function.
- Lead LDC roll out of sustainable & LCI products, and traceability, to customers in the region, securing partnerships with the ones with such agenda, sourcing opportunities for the group to market added-value products.
Qualifications
Required background:
- Bachelor Degree in relevant discipline from accredited university
- At least 10 years of sales trading, marketing, business management experience in complex, global organizations, in the grains / feed / oilseeds industry
- Experience in agriculture commodity trading
- Experience in Middle East or/and North Africa markets
- Knowledge of grains market, world supply and demand for feed ingredients, local supply and demand for feed ingredients
Languages: Fluency in English, Arabic and/or French very desirable.
Required skills:
- Proven record in business / commercial strategy development
- Strong manager with the ability to lead high performing commercial teams
- Demonstrated track record of leadership of teams toward achieving goals and executing at a high performance level (effective listening, patience, composure and conflict management)
- Strong negotiation skills with good marketing knowledge
- Ability and willingness to challenge the status quo and provide new perspectives and ideas and share external best practices
- Strong communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to communicate ideas, plans and actions to a broad group of employees, including in remote office locations
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve complex problems in partnership with others.
