Job Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing the Loram Rail Maintenance India Private Limited preparation, analysis, and reporting of daily finance / accounting / tax transactions to ensure statutory compliance.  Manages the annual statutory audit and assists with preparation, analysis, review, and reporting of assigned general ledger account activity.  Remains current on India Accounting and tax standards that may impact the company, properly implementing strategies to accommodate the change.   Works closely with US Corporate counterparts to ensure compliancy to Corporate US GAAP financial reporting requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Accounting

  • Oversees, prepares and reviews balance sheet and profit and loss accounts.
  • Reviews and assists with debtors / creditors balances, and other assigned accounts.
  • Manages and assists with preparation and administration of daily accounting transactions, including foreign exchange and intercompany.
  • Coordinates with other departments to obtain financial information.
  • Manages and assists with monthly and year-end closings including processing assigned accruals, analysis, and preparation and review of financial statements and reports.
  • Supports and provides guidance of imports and exports, FOREX receipts and payments, FOREX gain and loss and the basic accounting concepts pertaining to these.
  • Ensures financial integrity with company regulations, accounting standards and reporting by staying current with accounting standard changes.

Corporate Finance and Banking

  • Assistance with forecasting the cash flows for Loram India and providing monthly updates to the holding company and management to review.
  • Partners with Treasury in preparing presentations and quarterly financial statements which Treasury will provide to the bank.
  • Prepare the documentation required by bankers and regulators as needed.

Tax

  • Coordinates and compiles information for filing and payment of TDS / TCS / GST.
  • Assist corporate tax in preparation of Income Tax Provision.
  • Assist corporate tax in preparation and payment of Advance Income tax.
  • Coordinate with corporate tax in responding to Income Tax and GST notices.
  • Coordinates with tax consultants for various filings.
  • Ensures integrity with company tax regulations and reporting by staying current with governmental tax changes.

International tax and transfer pricing

  • Coordinate with corporate tax on strategizing and assisting in dealing with tax authorities for all Loram Indian Tax Existence entities from a domestic and international tax standpoint.
  • Reviewing various advisory with regards to Indian tax regulations and transfer pricing rules in sync with the US tax and benchmarking rules and ensure adequate compliance at both ends.
  • Work with External Tax consultants on preparation and filing of transfer pricing financial statements and audit reports for all Loram Indian Tax existent entities.

Customs

  • Administers filing of various returns in case of duty-free imports.
  • Administers filing with ICEGATE portal for compliances related to imports and exports.

Audit and Compliance

  • Manages and assists with interim and year-end audits related to areas of responsibility as required.
  • Point of contact within India for statutory audits and compliances.
  • Maintains documentation as required for statutory compliances.
  • Provides support in handling the Import & Export documentation.

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Own the budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis of the financial results, closely collaborating with Business Unit leadership and Corporate FP&A to achieve the desired outcome

Corporate law and regulatory compliance

  • Completes and assists with special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Prepares and maintains work procedures for assigned tasks.
  • Cross functional collaboration with various Loram entities
  • Review internal controls and implement process improvements and documentation

Qualifications

Experience: 9+ years

Required: Chartered Accountant

Preferred: CS (Registered Corporate Secretary)
