Shift Charge Engineers

Reporting to: Lead Operation Engineer

Responsibilities:

The Shift Charge Engineer, while performing duties in assigned shift shall be fully responsible for safe and efficient operation of plant within the technical limits as outlined in PPA, GSA and in operating procedures following the best practices of the power industry. To ensure proper logging and recording of all events and parameters. Preparing shift and other reports as assigned by Operations Manager. To ensure full EHS compliance during his shift. Strictly adheres to all safety rules; lockout/tag out, work permit guidelines, confined space entry and similar policies put in place to protect the employee’s health and safety.

He needs to regularly updates himself and encourage his subordinate staff adopting the industry best practices by conduction formal/informal sessions.

Duties:

 To operate the plant safely and efficiently during his shift.

 To participate in the plant daily morning meeting giving input regarding plant operational needs.

 To issue and cancel work permits in the capacity of Senior Authorized Person.

 To be responsible to carry out the required isolation/de-Isolation in the process.

 To coordinate with the Operations Manager, Plant Engineer and other departments of this plant.

 To keep the Ops. Manger or his designee informed of any unusual incident.

To generate report such as generation reports, incident, accident and near miss.

 To make periodic rounds of power plant observing conditions, note abnormal conditions and take corrective actions.

 To maintain a record of all such correspondence with Gas Seller and Power Purchaser as required under O & M agreement, PPA and GSA.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Graduate engineer with a minimum of 5-7 years working experience in similar capacity in power plant Technology.

 Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

 Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

 Ability to speak effectively to employees of the organization.
