Locus Robotics has a large and geographically diverse Robotics Software Engineering team working on a variety of cutting-edge engineering challenges. We are seeking a talented Robotics Software Engineer to join our team to support computer image processing-related projects on our commercially deployed robotic order fulfillment optimization system. This is an exciting opportunity to work with with our experts on perception algorithms.

Responsibilities:

• Work with our Robotics Software Team to design and develop high performance code for processing high volume sensor data, real time control, complex communication, data management, and other challenges.
• Integrate sophisticated algorithms into a complex command and control architecture across large fleets of distributed robots.
• Troubleshoot and refine code based on feedback from the field.

• 2+ years of experience working with languages such as C++, Python, Rust and Java.
• Experience with real time or highly performant embedded code.
• Experience with performance optimization and tuning for existing code including multi-threading, inter-process communication, refactoring, and algorithm tuning using state-of-the-art code profiling and analysis tools.
• Well-developed commercial software development problem solving capabilities.
• Familiarity with Image Processing techniques and applications.
• Familiarity with Linux.
• Familiarity with robotics and ROS is a plus.
