livingHR is searching for a mission-driven HR Director for one of our clients in the non-profit/education sector in Tampa! This role requires being completely on-site for the first several months, then gradually becoming more Hybrid.

Job Description

The Director, Human Resources is responsible for overseeing, implementing and administering all human resources functions: full cycle recruitment, employee relations, benefits, performance management, compensation management and employment law compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administers all Human Resources plans and procedures for all coalition team members; develop and implement personnel policies and procedures, update employee handbook
  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organizations human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning
  • Provides support and guidance to leadership when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations
  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent
  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
  • Ensures that appropriate risk mitigation is taken with respect to employee concerns and the Coalition’s human resource actions, including balancing compliance with federal and state laws
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Works closely with the CEO and other leadership to achieve system goals and meet objectives
  • Performs other duties as assigned
     

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position supervises the HR Coordinator.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in human resources or closely related field
  • SHRM - CP designation preferred
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in Human Resources as a HR Generalist/Manager
