Data is core to LiveStories mission. Our customers around the US and around the world sit on a large volume of data. They look to LiveStories to turn that data into actionable insights and stories.
We are seeking a senior data manager to lead our customers in making optimal, data-driven decisions. You will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and customers to communicate findings, answer business questions, improve existing processes and innovate new solutions. You will undertake compelling analysis projects with a primary focus on public health, demographics, and economic conditions. The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated and inquisitive, with strong analytical skills, extreme attention to detail and a passion for using data to drive business growth. Specifically, this person will help us query data, launch data products online, generate reports and answer ad-hoc data requests. The candidate will also lead a team of data analysts and project managers.
When successful in this role you will both identify best practices that LiveStories should adopt, and develop best practices that will be adopted by other organizations. It requires a person who is comfortable being neck-deep in data and playing with data to support business analysis. Are you up for an exciting, high-impact challenge?
Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable solutions, reports, dashboards, etc. that will support our customers' and partners’ ongoing and ad-hoc needs.
Build the foundation to generate content by growing and expanding the LiveStories data library
Quickly gain an understanding of the LiveStories data model and be able to understand and characterize the data with metadata prior to ingestion
Apply segmentation and modeling methodology to improve our reports.
Collaborate on user experience funnel and attribution modeling to identify how users interact with our site through different marketing channels and improve retention and conversion.
Work with internal stakeholders in various areas to correctly frame and answer high-level, open-ended business questions.
Verify and validate the accuracy of data, documentation, processes, and conclusions.
BA/BS and/or MA/MS in a relevant quantitative field or equivalent experience
10+ years relevant experience is preferred in leading large, complex, time sensitive customer driven data projects
5+ years of people management experience. Leading and growing a team of data analysts and project managers
Experience retrieving data from SQL databases and manipulating and analyzing data using complex SQL queries or computing languages such as R or Python
Strong statistical knowledge and understanding of A/B test design and analysis
Experience with causal inference methods and/or machine learning preferred
Experience in managing a team of data analysts and project managers
Superb written and verbal communication skills
Excellent ability to visualize data and communicate conclusions to stakeholders of all levels
