Job Description

We are looking for a creative, multi-disciplinary Social Media Specialist to grow as we do, and support our team as we bring Live Shopping to the masses. 
 
Your role involves performing tasks with a focus to grow our company’s global awareness and improve our creative tactics. You will, also, facilitate daily administrative functions like scheduling content, coordinating press events and compiling weekly data from our various communication efforts.  
 
The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of social media landscape as well as general communications best practices. She/He will be able to work well under guidance, and under ideal conditions, grow into a trusted and self-sufficient member of our communications team. 
 
You should display strong storytelling and writing skills with a deep understanding of digital trends, community management and basic analytics knowledge. Top candidates will be fantastic at being creative, effective at short-form copywriting and thorough in the creative communications process. 

Your key responsibilities: 

  • Own the daily execution and posting of the Instagram account (product tag, user handles, location tags and other posting requirements) 

  • Manage keeping our scheduling app up to date with new UGC content and dedicated captions 

  • Daily coordination with the Communications and Marketing Team to brainstorm content creation planning and ensure all assets and briefs are ready on time 

  • Surface key trends from social spaces that our content should be tapping into 

  • Responsible for compiling list of monthly key dates and constantly updating our social media benchmark 

  • Gather daily KPI on feed, Stories, Reels performance to consolidate the weekly social media report 

  • Contribute to Livescale’s monthly PR + Communications report 

Qualifications

  • a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred 

  • 1+ years of relevant experience in social media (relevant internships count!) preferably in a start-up environment 

  • Interest in taking complicated technology and making it accessible to the masses in fun, relatable ways 

  • Direct experience with handling an Instagram account 

  • Strong communication and organizational skills 

  • A great communicator and collaborator with people of all levels, with excellent written and verbal communicator, 

  • A proven team player, with the ability to empathise with employees and remain flexible in achieving the appropriate outcome. 

  • Ability to always add value and a desire to make a real difference. 

  • Organized, able to meet deadlines, with excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with a real ability to quickly prioritize a number of projects. 

  • Self-aware, able to challenge others when appropriate, works well with others and leads by example. 

  • A strong desire to develop a career in Communications and build a long-term career with in a fast-growing start-up that’s changing the industry. 

Additional Information

Due to covid-19, we’re looking for people already based in Canada, regardless of your nationality or immigration status (ie. Closed work permit, open work permit, permanent residency). If you're based in Canada but not currently living in Montreal, we're looking also for candidates interested in relocating to the Montreal region in the short/mid-term (pending developments regarding COVID-19, once travel is permitted).
