Job Description

We are looking for an efficient Talent (HR) Coordinator to undertake a Talent management and variety of HR administrative duties.

Your role involves performing tasks with a focus to grow our company’s talent pipeline and improve our sourcing tactics. You will, also, facilitate daily HR functions like keeping track of employees records and leading the recruitment process.

The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of Human Resources as well as general administrative responsibilities. She/He will be able to work autonomously and efficiently to ensure the end-to-end running of Talent projects and HR operations.

You should display strong problem solving and decision-making skills with a deep understanding of employee relationships, staffing management and basic payroll knowledge. Top candidates will be fantastic at being creative, effective at scheduling and thorough in the talent recruitment process.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Lead the recruitment process by identifying business needs, best posting platforms, new recruitment methods, coordinate with candidates, screening/interviewing of applicants, performing reference checks and issuing employment contracts.
  • Organizes and participates in special outreach activities such as job fairs or career days.
  • Be responsible for building strong relationships at all levels and, as you learn our processes, become the ‘go to person’ for all day-to-day People/HR enquiries and requests relating to the benefits. You will also continue to look at ways we can improve our benefits package for employees.
  • Coordinate our on-boarding process, including helping line-managers to plan first day introductions, ensuring new joiners are set up on our systems correctly, and ensuring a positive welcoming experience.
  • Collect and support the analysis of people-related data, such as Employee Engagement Surveys, New Joiner questionnaires and Exit Interviews.
  • Manage administration for all elements of the employee life cycle including preparing and collecting documents for new joiners, leavers, promotions, title changes, obtaining references, verification documents and issuing contracts.
  • Championing D&I projects and initiatives, helping to foster an inclusive environment.
  • Assist with payroll and ad-hoc HR projects.
  • Participate in the development and recommendation of operating policy and procedural improvements.

Qualifications

Your qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.
  • Degree level educated or equivalent candidates will be welcomed but candidates will be judged on their ability to do the role, not the qualifications they have. There are many brilliant opportunities to learn in this role and a career in HR can offer the opportunity to study and work further down the line, so university or college is not the only route to success here!
  • A great communicator and collaborator with people of all levels, with excellent written and verbal communicator,
  • A proven team player, with the ability to empathise with employees and remain flexible in achieving the appropriate outcome.
  • Ability to always add value and a desire to make a real difference.
  • Organised, able to meet deadlines, with excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, with a real ability to quickly prioritise a number of projects.
  • Self-aware, able to challenge others when appropriate, works well with others and leads by example.
  • A strong desire to develop a career in Talent (HR) and build a long-term career with in a fast-growing start-up that change the industry.

Additional Information

Due to covid-19, we’re looking for people already based in Canada, regardless of your nationality or immigration status (ie. Closed work permit, open work permit, permanent residency). If you're based in Canada but not currently living in Montreal, we're looking also for candidates interested in relocating to the Montreal region in the short/mid-term (pending developments regarding COVID-19, once travel is permitted).
