Job Description

To help maintain and grow this standard of work alongside that of our company, Livescale is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee daily activities and report directly to the CEO. 

As an ideal candidate:

  • You’ll have a sharp business mind, with proven success managing multiple departments toward the shared goal of maximum productivity,
  • Are highly skilled in finance and ready to work in synergy with our accounting, audit, banking partners,
  • Have experience in human resources and are passionate about recruiting and retaining the best talents,
  • Possess knowledge of legal jargon and methods, are ready to work with our legal partners & patent agents on daily tasks and key fundraising processes,
  • Additionally, you’ll display a proven ability to develop and maintain an environment of trust, diversity, and inclusion within the company.

On a daily/monthly basis, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Maintaining constant communication with management, staff, suppliers, and customers to ensure proper operations of the organization,
  • Contributing to the long-term objectives of the strategic and operational facets of the company,
  • Building upon the efficiency of existing organizational processes and procedures to enhance and sustain Livescale’s internal capacity and compliancy,
  • Managing timely data collection to update metrics, achieve productivity targets, and satisfy the needs of various company objectives, all on time and within a defined infrastructure,
  • Conduct budget reviews and report cost plans to upper management,
  • Overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable departments,
  • Track staffing requirements, overseeing the hiring process for new employees as needed,
  • Mentor and nurture top leadership practices amongst the Livescale team, including setup and implementation of career development plans,
  • Partner with cross-functional support teams in improving the proprietary tools and systems.

 

Qualifications

Beyond excellent and relevant competencies, we’re looking for a team player with an entrepreneurial mindset, and a background that clearly demonstrates the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations management, business administration, or another related field
  • 2+ years’ proven experience in an operations management position
  • Strong budget development and oversight skills
  • Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organizational control of branch operations
  • Highly trained in conflict management and business negotiation processes
  • Knowledge of general business software and aptitude in learning new applications; proficiency in accounting software like Xero/Quickbooks, Office suite, and CRM apps like Hubspot, Salesforce…etc.

It’s also a plus if you have:

  • Working knowledge of management software programs, like Wagepoint, Hubspot, Asana, Stripe
  • IT skills,
  • Multiple years of experience with financial and account reporting,
  • Multilingual communication skills (English/French at least).

Additional Information

Due to covid-19, we’re looking for people already based in Canada, regardless of your nationality or immigration status (ie. Closed work permit, open work permit, permanent residency).
If you're based in Canada but not currently living in Montreal, we're looking also for candidates interested in relocating to the Montreal region in the short/mid-term (pending developments regarding COVID-19, once travel is permitted).
