Job Description

Chapter 2: The Position
As an Inside Sales Associate, you will be focused on introducing and selling amazing book fairs into schools, assisting schools with their fundraising efforts, and promoting reading, literacy, and the value of reading to children. This role is heavily focused on outbound cold calling, with follow-up calls/emails placed to inbound leads, and requires strong territory management skills, high-motivation levels, a collaborative spirit, and an upbeat outlook. Each Inside Sales Associate will be responsible for individual monthly, seasonal, and annual goals, working within the identified operational capacity to book appropriate events in the appropriate weeks. We’re excited to be growing the business and the team, and with growth comes opportunities for advancement – not to mention you get to work with really great people!

  • Make 60-70 outbound phone calls a day, connecting with key decision-makers in schools to sell Literati Book Fair events

  • Overcome objections, find the right pressure points, offer nuanced solutions to complex problems, and ultimately close deals

  • Develop territory plans and execute on them – you love achieving established goals 

  • Collaborate with your team, conduct competitive intelligence, and maintain a positive attitude in the face of adversity 


Chapter 3: Your Story

  • 3+ years of account/territory management experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven experience in an outbound cold calling environment

Chapter 4: The Perfect Match 

  • Startup experience, and/or experience in childhood education, libraries, or similar industries is highly preferred
