Job Description

The FinOps Foundation is seeking a Community Advisor Lead to support and develop ongoing processes to scale our operations for our growing community. If you are interested in being a part of a global team developing a robust training program, then this is the job for you!

The Community Advisor Lead will spread across operational and tactical areas focused on four core programs, Meetup Events, Affinity Communities, Working Groups and Mentoring Program

Community Engagement:

  • Collaborate with Community Directors and community stakeholders to develop and implement strategies to enhance community engagement & scale through meetups and affinity groups
  • Monitor community dynamics and act as a liaison between the community and the FinOps Foundation leadership team.

Support and Guidance:

  • Oversee the delivery of support and advice to community members, ensuring timely and effective responses to their needs and concerns.
  • Assist with complex issues and provide advanced guidance when necessary.
  • Provide training and regular feedback to community members in elevated roles such as Working Group leads and Certified Meetup Organizers.

Program Development:

  • Contribute to the design and development of community programs (i.e. affinity groups, meetups, and mentorship), initiatives, and events that address the community's needs and aspirations.
  • Responsible for the end-to-end planning, execution, and promotion of various meetups and gatherings, ensuring they align with our organization's mission and goals.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing programs and recommend improvements.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Collect and analyze data related to community engagement, feedback, and key performance indicators.
  • Prepare regular reports and use data insights to make data-driven decisions.

Policy and Compliance:

  • Ensure that the community operates within established guidelines, policies, and code of conduct.

Collaboration and Networking:

  • Represent the organization at community meetings and events.

Tactical : 

  • Back-end operations: tracking deliverables, scheduling cadence calls, documentation
  • Drive planning process, perform ongoing monitoring, and complete regular lead check ins with meetup organizers, working groups leads and mentors / mentees
  • Develop and maintain a system for tracking and reporting on program metrics and outcomes.
  • Track metrics, such as attendance, engagement, and feedback.
  • Use data insights to evaluate the success of events and make data-driven improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Business, Communications).
  • Proven experience in program coordination & mentorship
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals and provide guidance and support.
  • Familiarity with mentorship best practices and personal development concepts.
  • Data-driven and results-oriented mindset.
  • Passion for making a positive impact on individuals through mentorship.

Preferred

  • Background with FinOps and/or Cloud Computing
