Job Description

The Linux Foundation has evolved a proven methodology to transform projects into category leaders. The LFX platform operationalizes this approach, providing a suite of tools built to facilitate every aspect of open source development. Critical projects must have their finger on the pulse of their entire developer ecosystem, with tools tailored to key stakeholders driving project development, including maintainers, contributors, community managers, marketers, and more. In your role as a software engineer contractor, you will be a part of the Linux Foundation engineering team working on LFX (lfx.dev) and OpenSSF projects.

 

In this role you will create analytics dashboards, reports and other user-facing applications to help developers and organizations assess the security of open source software, and help maintainers and contributors create more secure software. You will be responsible for the coding and testing of the applications, and reviewing peers’ code contributions. You will develop interactive prototypes to support validation of new user experiences and technical proofs of concept to inform technical designs.

 

Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of software development experience
  • B.S./ M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent qualifications
  • Experienced with and enjoys working in fast-paced and adaptable (startup-like) environments
  • Experience working with JavaScript frameworks like Angular.js, React.js, D3, Chart.js for building single-page applications
  • Experience with Integrating with third-party APIs and existing frameworks using RESTful web services
  • Ability to develop in a cloud-first environment such as AWS or Google cloud technologies
  • Strong server experience (Node.js, relational DB, NoSQL DB, distributed caches, Docker, big data, etc.) is preferred but not required
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization
  • Experience with the Agile/Scrum methodologies
