Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Marketing Manager to join our team and lead the marketing efforts to drive the adoption of the SPDX (Software Package Data Exchange) standard for the software bill of materials (SBOM). In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies to promote the benefits of using the SPDX standard to improve software supply chain security and transparency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing plan to drive adoption of the SPDX standard across the software industry
  • Create compelling marketing collateral, including whitepapers, case studies, and customer testimonials, to educate and engage key stakeholders on the benefits of using the SPDX standard
  • Work with internal and external teams to develop and execute campaigns that drive awareness and interest in the SPDX standard and new releases
  • Manage the SPDX social media presence and engage with the community to promote the standard
  • Analyze and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and make recommendations for improvements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in marketing or product marketing
  • Strong knowledge of software supply chain security and transparency issues
  • Familiarity with the SPDX standard and its use in creating software bill of materials
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams
  • Experience in the software industry or open-source community is a plus.
