As a core business unit of LF, the Event Team (composed of 40+ event management, sales, and marketing professionals) manages over 150 global events and conferences each year, ranging from 50 to 20k attendees. We host in-person, virtual and hybrid events.
Job Description
The Linux Foundation is looking for a detail-oriented Sales Coordinator to support a team of Event Sales Managers who sell sponsorships across our events portfolio. The Sales Coordinator is responsible for increasing sales efficiencies by coordinating processes, responding to sponsorship inquiries, answering questions regarding sponsorships, building reports, and providing support throughout the sales process as necessary. A strong knowledge of Salesforce is required.
Job Responsibilities
- Learn the in’s and out’s of all our sponsorship packages and event sales processes.
- Respond to all event sponsorship inquiries, serving as a front line before the event sales manager engages.
- Assist the event sales managers throughout the sales process: keeping documents updated with all progress, assuring all sales targets are being contacted, finding new contacts, creating and updating opportunities and reports in Salesforce, and more.
- Curate event target list for each event and help organize messaging to use for sponsorship promotions.
- Track all event details (sponsorship deadlines, potential webinar dates, messaging and more) and communicate out to the team regularly to increase efficiency and organization.
- Research competitive events for each of our events and organize a list of potential sponsors and contacts for outreach.
Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication (both written & verbal) skills - required and an absolute must.
- 2+ years experience in a sales assistant/coordinator environment required. Experience within events and/or tech is a plus.
- 2+ years of customer service/customer facing experience required.
- Prior experience with Salesforce is required, including building reports and updating records and opportunities.
- Prior experience with Google Workspace is a plus.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- Highly organized timeline management, with strong attention to detail.
- Self-starter, who can operate both independently and within a dynamic team environment.
- Able to handle shifting priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent team and customer service orientation.

Additional Information
This position requires overnight and weekend travel to events both domestically and internationally (~30%). This position is remote, and is open to applicants who can work North American time zone standard business hours.
