Job Description
As an Cloud Native Development Engineer, you will fill a software engineering role that works closely with the Certification Product Development team, LF Project team members, and Subject Matter Experts to build and maintain Certification exam software components, frameworks, tooling, and related documentation. Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Design, develop, and maintain performance-based Certification exams specializing in Kubernetes and Cloud Native technologies
- Have primary responsibility for creating automated setup and grading scripts for performance based exam items.
- Design, document and develop frameworks that can streamline item automation, and maintenance
- Draft, revise, and maintain documentation related to Certification exam (content and software) development
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise on Kubernetes implementations and technology developments and how those skills are represented in the LF Exam Environment
- Assist with QA testing exam content to identify bugs/issues and support the resolution process
- Maintain content consistency between various sources of code and tooling
- Identify opportunities to improve implementation, tooling, or other resources on behalf of the Platform Engineering team
- Participate in a weekend on-call roster for no more than 1 weekend per calendar month for customer support.
Qualifications
- Technical Skills: You have professional experience as a software developer with Kubernetes, Linux, CI/CD pipelines, Git, Python, and Google Apps.
- Technical Knowledge: You know what you know and are even more comfortable communicating what you don’t know but are willing to learn.
- Communication: You are a careful but confident communicator. You are as comfortable during online meetings as you are communicating via asynchronous tools (email, Slack, JIRA).
- Self-Leadership: You are self-motivated, productive in a virtual workplace, well-organized, attentive to detail, and process-oriented. You enjoy working on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Teamwork: Understanding the success of any project depends more on working well together with a team than any individual is key. You are as eager to share your skills to build a stronger team as you are to learn from everyone else.

Valuable skills:
