Job Description
The Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) is seeking a head of cloud native training to help grow and support the global CNCF community of open source projects. As of today, the CNCF community consists of 100+ open source projects and 800+ member companies that share the mission in making cloud native computing ubiquitous across the world. CNCF is dedicated to the goal of building a culturally diverse and pluralistic community committed to working in a multicultural environment and strongly encourages applications from underrepresented minorities and women.
We are looking for an experienced training professional to develop and implement a variety of CNCF technical training and certification offerings for our global community, including courses, bootcamps, and certificates. Ideally, you have experience in embracing cloud native application development and operations. Most importantly, you have empathy for developers going through their journey to cloud native and are here to help them. Also, you like to travel, enjoy speaking at events, developing presentations, demos and teaching people. You value the power of a diverse human network to sustain and grow technology communities, and you foster building connections between people.
If you take on this role, you will be a key member of the CNCF/LF staff working closely with project community members along with CNCF technical, training and certification, and marketing teams. Your focus will be creating and cultivating compelling professional training and certifications similar to the Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate (KCNA) and Prometheus Certified Associate (PCA) based on real-world cloud native scenarios
Responsibilities
Drive the hands-on development of CNCF training courses and certifications
Identify, analyze, and satisfy the evolving learning and development needs of cloud native application developers
Collaborate closely with stakeholders, both internal (including subject matter experts, Projects, Training & Certification, and Marketing) and external (including member companies, maintainers, contributors, and users) to the organization to deliver and market certifications and trainings on cloud native topics
Prioritize training and certification requirements from the perspective of our audience
Roll up your sleeves and take ownership to deliver a best-in-class professional developer learning experience
Qualifications
Technical skills: You are hands-on with one or more CNCF and cloud native projects and technologies
Training skills: You have 5+ years of experience with building training curriculum, courses, and certification programs
Speaking skills: You love developer communities and having experience crafting and delivering presentations to technical audiences
Writing skills: You have written articles, documentation case studies, books and blog posts showcasing your technical acumen
Social skills: You love getting out and connecting with people about technology.
Willing to shift schedules to accommodate the challenges presented by working with colleagues and members across the globe!
Able to travel, including internationally, several times a year to attend events. 5+ weeks of travel a year expected
You have 3+ years of experience in open source engineering, developer advocacy, product management or sales engineering
Experience working with open source projects and communities
You are an open source pragmatist at heart!
