Job Description

The Linux Foundation Cloud Operations team is looking for a Senior Cloud Operations Engineer to improve and expand the infrastructure we provide to our growing number of LFX products and Open Source projects. They will be focused on automating infrastructure management, by migrating infrastructure to code, using cloud-native tools, and building scalable cloud infrastructure. Aspects of this role are customer-facing and will include support requests from the project community, with a focus on process management, automation, and helping us streamline request management. They will also participate in a “follow-the-sun” on-call rotation.


This contractor role can be located anywhere in a US Timezone.

Responsibilities

  • Build and modernize a globally distributed, fault-tolerant infrastructure
  • Work with Terraform, AWS, Kubernetes, and other cloud-native tools
  • Leverage GitHub Actions or GitLab CI to automate deployments
  • Optimize Datadog monitors and reporting
  • Work across platforms to modernize deployments
  • Participate in on-call rotation
  • Constantly improve, optimize and identify opportunities for process improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of relevant technical experience, preferably in highly secure, high availability environments
  • Exceptional collaboration skills in a team environment
  • Administration of large multi-tenant production environments
  • Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm and other related experience
  • Knowledge of Git, GitHub, GitLab and related tools
  • Shell scripting experience
  • Excellent English communication skills, written and spoken
  • Experience working in a highly visible role
  • Experience working with widely distributed teams
  • Experience working with Open Source projects
