Job Description

The Linux Foundation is looking for a Marketing Manager, FINOS, to influence and execute a data-driven marketing strategy to drive growth in the FINOS community and member base, spanning financial services, technology and open source communities. The individual will collaborate across FINOS and its communities and have visibility into the broader Linux Foundation landscape. The role reports to the Sr Manager of Marketing, FINOS. RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a broad role requiring a wide range of skills and the ability to adapt and evolve as FINOS’ marketing requirements change as we experience unprecedented growth. First and foremost responsibility will be in marketing execution, specifically: 

  • Execute daily marketing operations within HubSpot marketing modules

    • Social media posting for LinkedIn and Twitter

    • Newsletter, blog post, event post, etc. workflow management

    • Marketing email setup and workflow management

    • Blogs copy and content creation + editing

    • Content updates on website (finos.org) as needed

    • HubSpot workflow management

  • Support Sr. Marketing Manager in setting overall strategy for, and maintaining editorial calendar

  • Work across functional teams to bubble up stories and highlights to share through different marketing channels, and to support business development’s goal of showing value for members

  • Coordinate with the Member Success function in engaging Members in participating in FINOS marketing activities (e.g. events, press releases, etc) as well as FINOS engaging in Member activities (internal expos and events, webinars, etc)

  • Work with the CTO and Community Managers to support project centric marketing to improve community adoption and contributions as well as to manage FINOS participation in external developers conferences/events including speakers, presentations, logistics, etc

  • Field marketing issues / requests from internal team members to move through kanban board

  • Monitor and analyze the success of marketing activity using a data-driven approach, providing marketing metrics to the marketing and leadership teams 

  • Work collaboratively with FINOS and the Linux Foundation (LF) marketing operations function and external agencies (PR, Events, etc) as required.

  • Field marketing support (events, swag, etc.)

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • At least 3-5 years of technology marketing experience 

  • Strong knowledge of HubSpot marketing & automation tools.

  • Strong execution and operational marketing skills

  • Social media experience

  • Understand persona-based marketing for both business and technical audiences 

  • Previous experience developing tactics for developer-persona marketing 

  • Proven success using campaigns to promote and support products that have software developers and / or business users as customers

  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to forge strong relationships with FINOS members and project maintainers and to understand the requirements/challenges specific to a regulated industry

  • Ability to engage and positively influence multiple internal teams

  • Self-motivated individual, able to work in a collaborative environment with a remote team and to meet self-imposed deadlines

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to balance the demands of multiple projects

  • Must be able and willing to travel nationally and internationally (primarily to the USA, UK and continental Europe, though traveling to Asia may also be required).

DESIRED

  • 3-5 experience in a fintech company or comparable experience in marketing to financial institutions

  • Knowledge and use of Salesforce (or comparable) CRM tools

  • Knowledge and use of GitHub for issue and project tracking

  • Understanding of open source practices and business models, experience in building open source communities OR deep understanding of the financial services landscape with experience in a marketing team targeting financial services organizations

  • Experience working with Open Source projects and communities

  • Familiarity with Google Apps suite and collaboration model

  • Familiar with technology, source code (any language) and modern developer workflows (e.g. Github, Jira, etc.)

  • Comfortable designing basic visual graphics in HubSpot and Photoshop (or comparable)
