Job Description

The Linux Foundation is looking for a new addition to the Design team. In this role, you support the design needs of the Linux Foundation and many of its projects. With plenty of support and direction, you will produce templated and designed assets across digital, print, and social. Reporting to the Head of Brand and Design, our ideal candidate for the Production Artist position is excited about design, brand, and marketing and eager to jump start a career in this field. This individual is detail-oriented and can handle a fast-paced environment and react quickly to changing needs.  

The Linux Foundation is a 100% remote organization. The position can be based anywhere in the continental U.S. or Canada.

Qualifications

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Using LF’s style guidelines and templates, create assorted assets including email banners, web graphics, social media images, whitepapers, slide presentations, and event signage.

  • Place and style text and images into InDesign documents.

  • Make revisions to designs based on stakeholder’s feedback, and follow up with them to ensure their expectations have been met.

  • Reformat existing content into sizes appropriate for other media channels (for example, reformat email content to social post format, or size ads to multiple dimensions).

  • Package and preflight files for release to printers or media partners.

  • Archive work into a shared drive accessible to team members.

  • Help bring new ideas for design and content creation to the team using your creativity and eye for great design.

What We’d Like to See in You

  • Current or recent study in design, marketing or other related discipline

  • Understanding of typography, color, composition, design theory, and current trends.

  • A creative mind, an eye for design, and an eagerness to learn new things,

  • Attention to detail is of utmost importance in this position.

  • Ability to work both independently and as a team.

  • A working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator and InDesign.

  • Strong organizational abilities, including time and resource management.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
