Job Description

Work closely with Training Program Director on technical training and course development in order to:

  • Teach Linux Foundation courses.

  • Develop and maintain curriculum, agendas, communications, and materials.

  • Utilize adult learning theory and knowledge of current learners to create learning solutions which encourage an interactive and engaging experience.

  • Assist with curriculum development and maintenance.

  • Evaluate outcomes and continuously improve course material.

  • Collaborate with other training and departmental teammates.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and internal customers to gather relevant content and develop blended learning solutions inclusive of instructor-led sessions, virtual classroom experiences, as well as self-paced e-learning.

  • Complete research and testing tasks as assigned by the training program director.

  • Perform special projects as assigned by the training program director.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

  • Support LF GitHub repository hygiene by reviewing and confirming access permissions, format consistency, and content file clean-up.

  • Maintain Confluence documentation reviews and updates to ensure current processes are reflected.

  • Work with Projects early on in the conceptual phase to ensure content meets the needs of the audience.

  • A careful but confident communicator.

  • Willing to shift schedules a few days a month in order to accommodate early morning or late evening calls and classes.  Deal with the practical challenges presented by working with colleagues across global time zones.

  • Always keeps an eye on the overall mission and goals of the Foundation.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience creating technical content

  • Experience presenting technical content to adults

Preferred:

  • Open source software familiarity

  • Bachelor degree

  • Experience using LaTex

  • Proficiency in business technologies including GitHub, Google Apps and Atlassian Tools,  such as JIRA and Confluence

  • Experience using Linux or Unix systems

  • Teaching experience
