We're looking for a self-starter with a passion for rolling up their sleeves, thriving in organized chaos, and being resourceful.

This role is responsible for building frameworks and processes that enable members of the foundation and Special Interest Groups (SIGs) to contribute, collaborate and create content for the practice of FinOps. They will maintain a balance between optimized processes and creating space for speed, agility and creativity.  This is a critical role with access to the FinOps Foundation's (F2) leadership, Technical Advisory Council (TAC) and have ownership over key deliverables, such as quarterly roadmap planning, F2 investment and cycle planning.  

 

We're looking for someone who will have: 

  • Deep interest in enabling our members, our strategy, and our mission to make the practice of FinOps better for everyone

  • At least 5 years of FinOps or cloud cost management experience and working with technical teams (Engineering, UX, Data, etc)

  • Experience crafting and implementing light-weight processes that scale efficiently

  • Strong facilitation skills to get everyone on the same page

  • Exceptional communication skills and proven ability to deliver the right information to the right people at the right time

  • Experience in leadership roles; for example: building high trust relationships across teams; influencing without direct authority; working proactively to identify and solve potential problems

  • Ability to be comfortable in leading conversations with senior leadership on the effectiveness of FinOps Foundation frameworks and functions

  • Great organizational and interpersonal skills, with proven success building relationships across all levels

  • Experience being a great communicator in both technical and non-technical contexts

Some of the things you'll do:

  • Build relationships with practitioner members and vendor members

  • Serve as a FinOps evangelist to help members understand FinOps Foundation's vision, roadmap, and good practices

  • Maintain a holistic roadmap and view of ongoing FinOps Foundation initiatives to help practitioner members and help FinOps leadership track progress and project/initiative health

  • Act as product manager for internal systems, working with the internal tools and data teams to build tools that will result in product development and FinOps Foundation alignment

  • Design, lead and support FinOps Foundation teams in running retrospectives and find ways to communicate the findings to the rest of F2 leadership and TAC

  • Develop FinOps Foundation competencies, including frameworks, process, and tools specific to a Digital by Design environment

  • Work with cross-functional teams to build a world-class F2 operations platform, with tracking, segmentation, and project management tooling

  • Create new innovative programs to take the practice of FinOps to the next level

  • Know how to draw an owl*

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Deep familiarity with the CFM/FinOps space, a minimum of 5 years.

  • Product Management or Engineering background preferred, this is a technical role.

  • We don’t care what degree you hold but your experience should be the equivalent of a PHD.
