Job Description

The Linux Foundation is creating the greatest shared technology investment in history by enabling open source collaboration across companies, developers, and users. The Linux Foundation is seeking a program manager to join the foundation’s team to drive open source program office (OSPO) programs and the TODO Group

You understand how to lead by influence, and love to work with individuals from many different organizations and disciplines. You’re excited by modern technologies, open source collaboration and finding ways to motivate diverse people to achieve shared goals. You know how to inspire people to work together, and are comfortable helping build relationships between foundation members.

If you take on this role, you will be a key member of the Linux Foundation staff, driving OSPO adoption across member companies, facilitating communication and developing more OSPO content and education. You will also get to help define where this role takes you into the future.

The Program Manager responsibilities will spread across strategic and tactical areas:

  • Drive and lead OSPO adoption globally across organizations

  • Strategic partner to the project leadership and TODO steering committee

  • Advise on open source best practices and launch new OSPO initiatives

  • Drive OSPO research like the OSPO survey https://github.com/todogroup/survey

  • Cultivate and manage the OSPO landscape: https://landscape.todogroup.org

  • Build an OSPO ecosystem across companies, universities and governments

  • Be the operational interface between the project and broader LF membership

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and planning skills

  • Experience working with global and diverse project participants

  • Well developed interpersonal skills, and excellent written and verbal communication

  • Strong sense of teamwork and diplomacy

  • Ability to motivate people and to lead through influence

  • Quickly learn new communication, planning and collaboration tools

  • Direct experience with open source and a pragmatic outlook on open source

  • Experience in an OSPO or open source project is a plus
