TODO Group and OSPO Program Manager
- San Francisco, CA, USA
- Employees can work remotely
The world runs on open source, and projects need more than a version or source control system to scale. The Linux Foundation has evolved a proven methodology to transform projects into category leaders. LFX operationalizes this approach, providing a suite of tools built to facilitate every aspect of open source development. Critical projects must have their finger on the pulse of their entire developer ecosystem, with tools tailored to key stakeholders driving project development, including maintainers, contributors, community managers, marketers, and more.
The Linux Foundation is creating the greatest shared technology investment in history by enabling open source collaboration across companies, developers, and users. We are the organization of choice to build ecosystems that accelerate open technology development and global commercial adoption. The Linux Foundation is seeking a program manager to join the foundation’s team to drive open source program office (OSPO) programs and the TODO Group.
You understand how to lead by influence, and love to work with individuals from many different organizations and disciplines. You’re excited by modern technologies, open source collaboration and finding ways to motivate diverse people to achieve shared goals. You know how to inspire people to work together, and are comfortable helping build relationships between foundation members.
If you take on this role, you will be a key member of the Linux Foundation staff, driving OSPO adoption across member companies, facilitating communication and developing more OSPO content and education. You will also get to help define where this role takes you into the future.
The Program Manager responsibilities will spread across strategic and tactical areas:
Drive and lead OSPO adoption globally across organizations
Strategic partner to the project leadership and TODO steering committee
Advise on open source best practices and launch new OSPO initiatives
Drive OSPO research like the OSPO survey https://github.com/todogroup/survey
Cultivate and manage the OSPO landscape: https://landscape.todogroup.org
Build an OSPO ecosystem across companies, universities and governments
Be the operational interface between the project and broader LF membership
Strong organizational and planning skills
Experience working with global and diverse project participants
Well developed interpersonal skills, and excellent written and verbal communication
Strong sense of teamwork and diplomacy
Ability to motivate people and to lead through influence
Quickly learn new communication, planning and collaboration tools
Direct experience with open source and a pragmatic outlook on open source
Experience in an OSPO or open source project is a plus
