Job Description

This role will be hybrid in LInkedIn’s Mountain View office location.

The Enterprise & Identity Security team strives to proactively safeguard our corporate identity and infrastructure against external and internal threats and bad actors. You will strive to proactively safeguard our corporate infrastructure and digital assets by identifying, assessing, and mitigating security risks across cloud/SaaS environments, identity systems, endpoints, and essential business workflows. You will operate at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, identity management, software development, and mission-critical security workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the architecture, design, and evolution of enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) platforms and services, enabling secure and scalable access across the organization.

  • Engineer and deliver new identity capabilities that improve security, user experience, automation, and operational efficiency.

  • Drive modernization initiatives by re-architecting legacy identity systems into resilient, cloud-ready, and highly scalable platforms.

  • Design solutions that address performance, reliability, scalability, and availability challenges across identity infrastructure.

  • Define and execute the long-term technical strategy and roadmap for identity platforms, aligning with business growth and security objectives.

  • Partner closely with Security, Infrastructure, Product, and Engineering teams to integrate identity services into enterprise applications and platforms.

  • Establish engineering best practices, architectural standards, and governance models for identity systems and services.

  • Lead complex technical initiatives from concept through implementation, influencing cross-functional stakeholders and driving execution at scale.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve identity architecture and platform capabilities.

  • Mentor and guide engineers, fostering technical excellence and a culture of innovation within the organization.

  • Build platforms and services that support Zero Trust principles, strong authentication, authorization, and lifecycle management.

  • Ensure identity systems are designed to meet compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements while maintaining a seamless user experience.

  • Assess new and existing applications and system deployments for vulnerabilities and design flaws, and prioritize remediation efforts based on risk. 

  • Devise and bolster defenses through secure-by-default frameworks, architectures, and processes. 

  • Maintain and build improvements to systems supporting supply chain assurance. 

  • Evaluate new products and technologies, including potential acquisitions. 

  • Respond to external vulnerability researcher inquiries and vulnerability reports. 

  • Educate and advocate for security improvement throughout the LinkedIn ecosystem through mentorship and coaching. 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related technical discipline, or related practical experience. 

  • 5+ years of experience in Identity & Access Management, Active Directory, workforce identity lifecycle management, role based access, authentication, authorization, and Single Sign-On (SSO)

  • 5+ years experience and in-depth knowledge of application security, authentication and security protocols, cryptography, supply chain security and mobile security.

  • 5+ years experience in various security assessment methodologies such as threat modeling, design reviews, penetration testing and vulnerability assessment.

  • Experience with programming languages such as Java, GoLang or Python

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience designing, building, and modernizing enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) platforms (such as Microsoft Entra ID), including developing new capabilities, re-architecting legacy systems, and driving large-scale identity transformations.

  • Proven ability to solve scalability, reliability, and performance challenges while creating future-ready identity architectures that support business growth and evolving security requirements.

  • Demonstrated success designing long-term identity platform strategies that support rapid organizational growth and future business needs.

  • Experience with security research, bug bounty and CTF competitions

  • Experience with codeql, semgrep and GitHub integration workflows 

  • Ability to work across teams and communicate concisely and clearly to stakeholders

The pay range for this role is $156,000 to $255,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
