LinkedIn has a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Manager, Payroll Operations – EMEA & LATAM to join our Dublin-based Financial Systems and Controllership team, a key part of LinkedIn’s world-class controllership organization. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Payroll Operations – EMEA & LATAM, this role is responsible for the day-to-day execution and operational delivery of payroll across 11 countries and approximately 3,000 employees, spanning multiple legal entities in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Brazil, Spain, Netherlands, Sweden, Mexico, France, and Austria. 

The Manager will ensure payrolls are processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with local statutory requirements, while supporting regional standardization, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is execution-focused, highly collaborative, and critical to maintaining operational stability and employee trust.

Our Global Payroll & Employment Tax team is guided by Adaptability, Flexibility, Accountability, Integrity, Trust & Communication, and Authentic Leadership, grounded in a continual assumption of positive intent. 

Key Stakeholders:  

Human Resources, Vendors, Accounting, Stock Administration, Employment Tax, Treasury, Legal, Sales Commissions and Internal Audit teams. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage and develop an internal team of payroll specialists, providing coaching, performance feedback, and hands-on operational guidance. 

  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing across assigned EMEA and LATAM countries, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local statutory and regulatory requirements. 

  • Coordinate with outsourced payroll vendors to support payroll execution and monitor adherence to established SLAs, escalating issues as needed. 

  • Conduct regular operational and service review meetings to monitor payroll performance, issue resolution, and service quality. 

  • Ensure payroll processes are documented, consistently followed, and reviewed in alignment with SOX requirements, internal controls, wage governance, and internal and external policies. 

  • Support regional payroll initiatives, system enhancements, and remediation activities led by senior payroll leadership. 

  • Identify operational risks and gaps, raising recommendations and supporting implementation of process improvements and standardization efforts. 

  • Oversee monthly payroll reconciliations, ensuring discrepancies are identified, investigated, and resolved in a timely manner. 

  • Maintain payroll metrics, reports, and operational dashboards to support visibility and performance tracking. 

  • Partner closely with HR, Finance, Tax, Benefits, Stock Administration, and other stakeholders to support payroll-related activities and inquiries.  

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive payroll experience with a focus on EMEA & LATAM payroll  

  • 4+ years of people management experience including managing payroll teams  

  • 4+ years experience in multi-country payroll operations, including regulatory compliance, statutory reporting, tax withholding, salary schemes, and social security requirements.   

  • 4+ years experience managing complex payroll operations, projects, and stakeholders 

  • 1+ year(s) of management experience or 1+ year(s) of staff level engineering experience with management training

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Proven experience managing multi-country payroll operations across EMEA and/or LATAM, including coordination with external payroll vendors to support accurate and compliant payroll delivery. 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, and deliver consistent payroll execution across multiple countries. 

  • Experience contributing to process improvement initiatives and supporting business cases aligned to regional or global payroll goals. 

  • Strong analytical and process-oriented mindset, with experience using KPIs and operational metrics to identify issues and drive improvements. 

  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate productively with internal partners (HR, Finance, Tax, Benefits) and external vendors. 

  • Experience working in a public company or similarly controlled environment with exposure to audits, controls, and compliance standards. 

  • Working knowledge of payroll and HR systems such as Workday HCM, ServiceNow, ADP GlobalView, EY, SAP, or similar platforms. 

  • Detail-oriented, dependable, and pragmatic, with a focus on execution, team engagement, and process discipline. 

Suggested Skills 

  • Experience in Workday or another HCM Tool 

  • Experience in Service Now or another CRM tool 

  • User experience of ADP Streamline tool & EY systems 

  • Secondary language preferable 

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
