LinkedIn has a fantastic opportunity for a skilled and experienced Senior Payroll Manager of EMEA & LATAM to join our Dublin-based International Controllership team. The International Controllership Team is a key part of LinkedIn’s world class controllership organization. This progressive and innovative local subgroup of the team is comprised of approx. 40 dynamic controllership professionals based at our International HQ in Dublin, Ireland, who are responsible for revenue accounting, international payroll, internal management reporting, business analysis and external statutory reporting.   

Reporting to the Director of Global Payroll Operations, the Sr. Manager, Payroll Operations – EMEA & LATAM will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for payroll delivery across 11 countries and approximately 3,000 employees, spanning multiple entities in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Brazil, Spain, Netherlands, Sweden, Mexico, France, and Austria. This role serves as the regional subject matter expert, accountable for end-to-end payroll operations while driving global standardization, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, compliance, and employee experience. 

The Sr. Manager will play a key role in shaping the global payroll strategy—strengthening controls, improving data integrity, and building scalable solutions through strong vendor partnerships and cross-functional collaboration. Success in this role requires a balance of strategic vision and hands-on execution, ensuring that payroll delivery is accurate, compliant, and resilient across diverse regulatory environments.

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage, lead, and supervise internal team of EMEAL payroll specialists  

  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing in line with statutory requirements, adhering to up-to-date payroll regulatory compliance legislation throughout the EMEAL region. 

  • Manage outsourced payroll vendors that support our in-house payroll team 

  • Ensure SLAs are effectively implemented and meet with Payroll Customer Services, companywide. 

  • Plan and host operational review meetings to monitor payroll service levels  

  • Ensure all payroll processes are documented, performed, and reviewed continually in line with SOX compliance, control requirements, wage governance, internal and external policies, laws and best practices 

  • Lead and support special projects 

  • Skilled at working with others, building cross-functional stakeholder relationships 

  • High degree of expertise in leveraging strong analytical and problem-solving skills techniques in audit and validation to deliver accurate and robust payroll support to employees, stakeholders, and partners. 

  • Develop, drive and support process standardization, remediation, and the optimization of payroll procedures by ensuring strong internal controls and risks associated with payroll activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled  

  • Manage reconciliation process of all monthly payroll reports 

  • Compile and maintain key operational payroll metrics & dashboards  

  • Partner with key stakeholders in implementing best-in-class processes for payroll, employment tax, stock administration and employee benefit programs 

  • Lead communication & relationships with all internal & external stakeholders 

  • Manage business continuity planning for payroll contingencies and staffing 

  • Multinational, Expat payroll, and equity compensation experience is a plus 

  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented and the ability to perform under pressure. 

Interacts with:  

Human Resources, Vendors, Accounting, Stock Administration, Employment Tax, Treasury, Legal, Sales Commissions and Internal Audit teams. 

 

Qualifications

Basic:   

  • 10+ years of progressive payroll experience with a focus on EMEA & LATAM payroll  

  • 4+ years of people management experience including managing payroll teams  

  • 4+ years experience in multi-country payroll operations, including regulatory compliance, statutory reporting, tax withholding, salary schemes, and social security requirements.   

  • 4+ years experience in managing complex payroll operations, projects, and stakeholders 

Preferred

  • Proven experience managing multi-country payroll operations across EMEA and LATAM, including oversight of multiple external vendors for payroll processing. Strong track record of leading teams, driving performance, and managing complex priorities across regions. Skilled in developing business cases, justifying resources, and executing strategic initiatives that align with organizational goals. 

  • Analytical and process-focused, with the ability to evaluate, streamline, and enhance business operations using KPIs, OKRs, and roadmaps to measure success. Recognized for outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with proven success collaborating across internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Deep understanding of international compliance, including European Works Councils, equity programs, and global mobility considerations. Experienced in public company environments and comfortable navigating complex, regulated landscapes. 

  • Proficient in Workday HCM, ServiceNow CRM, EY, ADP GlobalView, SAP, and Streamline payroll systems, with additional experience in vendor management, system integrations, and implementations. Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. 

  • Detail-oriented, reliable, pragmatic, and proactive, with a focus on continuous improvement, mentorship, and fostering team engagement. Experience in remote and globally distributed work environments is a plus.
