Job Description

This role will be based in San Francisco or New York.

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.

We are looking for a Design Lead with a strong visual design background to join the Brand Creative team. This role will report to the Executive Creative Director and manage a team of designers. The right candidate is skilled at communicating ideas through critical thinking and is passionate about solving problems creatively with visually compelling and impactful work. You’re detail-oriented from concepting to final delivery, a creative problem solver, a systems thinker, and an advocate of beautiful, inclusive experiences across all design platforms. You’ll be applying a keen eye to ensure all design work aligns with our brand standards.

Responsibilities

  • Partner daily with cross-functional team members, including Marketers, Producers, Program Managers, Creative Directors, Art Directors, and Copywriters 
  • Lead and inspire a team of designers, providing guidance, feedback, and mentorship to foster growth and development 
  • Oversee the entire design process, from initial concept development to final execution, ensuring exceptional craft and high-quality results  
  • Create innovative design solutions based on business goals and user needs across multiple mediums 
  • Develop and maintain design guidelines, standards, and best practices to ensure consistency and excellence across all design work 
  • Conceptualize and deliver assets that adhere to brand guidelines and communicate effectively 
  • Inspire and embrace challenges and new ways of thinking to push the brand forward 
  • Present design concepts and solutions to stakeholders, effectively communicating the rationale behind design decisions 
  • Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the design team 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in graphic design, advertising, or equivalent work experience 
  • 10+ years of experience in the creative industry 
  • 2+ years of experience managing direct reports or formally managing/mentoring other creatives work.
  • Portfolio showcasing a wide range of high-quality design, branding and craft 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • A visual systems thinker, capable of creating and maintaining cohesive design systems across various platforms and mediums 
  • Ability to leverage design skills to apply to branding, advertising campaigns, print, video, motion, experiential and digital formats 
  • Passionate about creating compelling, thoughtful design 
  • Exhibits the ability to translate feedback to provide creative solutions 
  • Impeccable eye for detail, craft, and design to bring ideas to life 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and shift quickly from one project to the next, ensuring timely delivery 
  • Self-motivated, flexible and process-driven with the ability to accept and build on feedback 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive independently and as a team member in a creative, friendly, and fast-paced remote/hybrid environment. 
  • A social-first thinker, keeping a pulse on the latest social platform trends and technologies 
  • Hands-on through the evolution of an idea through final production 
  • Exceptional skills in graphic design and visual storytelling 
  • Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite, MS Office 
  • Working knowledge of After Effects and ability to direct motion design

The pay range for this role is $144,000-$224,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
