Job Description

This role will be based in our Mountain View, CA office. This role, due to the business needs of the team, requires employees to be physically present in the specified office on a full-time basis. This helps to ensure you are best equipped to be successful and have the experience you need to fulfil the responsibilities of the role. 

The Global Security & Safety team is responsible for protecting LinkedIn’s people, business operations, brand, and facilities.  We are focused on building scalable programs that support LinkedIn’s culture by enabling our people to do their best work while feeling safe and cared for, wherever they are located. 

As part of our efforts to deliver on this vision, we are hiring a senior leader to direct our global Protective Services team. The Director of Global Protective Services will lead our global Executive Protection and Event Security programs while serving as a member of the GS&S leadership team, reporting to the Head of Global Security & Safety.  

Responsibilities  

  • Design, implement and manage a scalable executive protection program to provide appropriate levels of support to LinkedIn’s most senior executives based on established risk models.   
  • Establish baseline support models based on risk assessment methodologies to drive clarity and consistency in the implementation program elements.  
  • Develop and maintain relationships with executives and their support staff to build trust and drive engagement and support of our security & safety programs.  
  • Establish and deliver on minimum requirements for program components and measure adherence to those requirements.  
  • Conduct in-person security coverage for the CEO in accordance with agreed upon support models established by ongoing risk assessments.   
  • Lead of our Event Security program to include oversight of building a scalable program that meets the varying needs of our event portfolio.   
  • Establish minimum standards for events based on established risk methodologies. 
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with event partners to ensure support of the program and inclusion at every step of the event planning and execution process.   
  • Measure the effectiveness of the team and the program through the establishment and ongoing reporting to agreed upon KPI’s.   
  • Mentor and coach existing team members to help scale the program as needed.   
  • Effectively manage third party vendors assigned to the Executive Protection and Event Security programs through the negotiation of and adherence to established SLA’s and KPI’s.   
  • Successfully partner with our Intelligence and Campus Security programs to ensure alignment across programs and a seamless experience for our executives and partners.   
  • Willingness to travel frequently and maintain an in-office presence to ensure the ability to support of our executive team 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:  

  • 10+ years experience providing close protection security for senior level executives in a corporate or government setting.    
  • 5+ years experience operating in a leadership role within a close protection program 

Preferred Qualifications:   

  • Experience building, implementing and scaling executive security and safety programs globally in support of a diverse set of corporate executives or government officials  
  • Proven ability to lead a globally dispersed team from a diverse set of backgrounds in delivering a unified vision.    
  • Established history of cross functional partnership with: Legal, Workplace, C-Suite, People / HR, Finance, Info Sec, Trust and Safety.  
  • Extensive knowledge of laws and regulations governing security operations globally.      
  • Proven ability to effectively manage vendor/supplier relationships preferably on a global level.

The pay range for this role is $150,000 - $244,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
