Reporting directly to our VP of Consumer Product Design, you will lead our Search & Engage product design teams, working collaboratively with leadership across the organization to establish a clear vision and strategy for the future of our Search experience, Home (our feed & the front door to the LinkedIn app), as well as creating conversational trust on the platform, and more. You will sit at the heart of LinkedIn’s product ecosystem, helping unlock economic opportunity for members around the world. We are seeking an expert in systems thinking, relationship building, and storytelling who will utilize their full range of organizational and interpersonal skills to help their talented teams operate at their highest and most effective level.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Design vision and strategy for Search, Home (Feed), Content Types, Conversations, and Content Trust as well as internal tools supporting our Editorial and Content Platform partners across LinkedIn
  • Oversee several Design leads, managers and tenured Individual Contributors, unifying and growing the skills of others
  • Set expectations and maintain high standards of quality of the work; inspire excellence and collaboration 
  • Manage a high performing team with compassion; Attract, retain, develop, and manage individuals to reach their highest potential
  • Establish trust and build confidence with cross-functional partners and executive leadership (e.g., Design, UXR, Product, Engineering, and Marketing); collaborate cross-functionally and across teams 
  • Improve operational excellence, prioritizing work and resources across product teams to maximize impact on the business and the user experience 
  • Co-create the future of LinkedIn through designing best in class products and leading world class teams
  • Act as a mentor, leader, and coach across the Design team, be an ambassador within and outside of LinkedIn to build our global Design brand

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of combined hands-on experience through practice and management of Product Design in the business context 
  • Experience designing consumer products across platforms and devices 
  • Deep knowledge of associated practices, including Content Design, User Experience Research, Motion, and accessibility standards 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong experience in providing vision and guidance that helps shape the future of a business 
  • Ability to influence multiple product areas while being able to drive a strategy and vision across an organization
  • Ability to deliver design solutions that grow the business area and create new value for members/customers 
  • Ability to develop teams of designers to become the next generation of key contributors - promoting sharing work openly and welcoming feedback  
  • Strong ability to solve unstructured problems that have many dependencies and lengthy timelines; Seeks out ambiguity and transforms it into effective, actionable plans with cross-functional partners  
  • Great communicator and compelling storyteller

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.

The pay range for this role is $207,000 to $335,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
