LinkedIn News is looking for a News Editor to support the Reporting team and help expand our Get Hired (career development) coverage in Europe. In the US, Get Hired comprises a weekly newsletter, a Live show and even a podcast. In this role, the editor will focus on career-related content and the future of work, sending notifications to relevant LinkedIn members across Europe to increase engagement.
You’ll get to work with a dynamic team of journalists who reach the largest group of professionals ever assembled. We’re looking for someone who’s a self-starter and wants to use journalism skills in new and innovative ways. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, comfortable working with a variety of media formats, and able to adapt to a role where responsibilities are constantly changing.
You’ll be joining an international team of journalists who help create, cultivate and curate the content that flows through LinkedIn. You’ll work closely with global editors across time zones and cultures, ultimately helping members around the world pinpoint new opportunities to grow their careers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Host Live shows on career- and future of work-related themes (including how to future-proof your career)
- Write posts and build storylines
- Contribute to global projects like our Top Companies and Top Startups lists as well as our data-driven special reports
- Produce original articles and videos as needed. Explore other content types, eg podcasts, audio events
- Develop innovative and creative ways to serve our members with the content they need to land the right job and develop their careers
- Work with the Creator Management team to support contributors on the platform
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years' experience working in a news/fast-paced media environment.
- Fluency in both verbal and written English.
- Professional experience in writing and copy editing skills.
- Experience working with different media formats (i.e. video and/or podcasts)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to spot emerging trends and growth tactics, and devise a plan for sharing and telling stories in new ways
- Experience with original and curated news
- A strategic approach with a knack for testing and iterating to find out what works
- Willingness to pitch in where needed to achieve the goals of a small team
- Passion for LinkedIn and editorial’s goal of bringing professionals the news and insights they need.
