This role will be based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, or employees can work remotely within The Netherlands.

LinkedIn News is looking for a News Editor to support the Dutch News team and help expand our Dutch coverage on current news and career topics in DACH. In this role, you will identify the most important news topics of the day, write short texts and create and curate discussions on current debates, newsletters, and other multi-media formats, and send notifications to increase engagement. The role involves discovering and summarizing a mix of breaking news and trends while curating the right creator voices for each story. The best candidate lives and breathes professional news and has a passion for following and spotting the kind of topics that are igniting professional conversations.
You’ll get to work with a dynamic team of excellent journalists who reach the largest group of professionals ever assembled. We’re looking for someone who’s a self-starter and wants to use journalism skills in new and innovative ways. The ideal candidate is a strong and accurate news writer, deadline-driven, creative, comfortable working with a variety of media formats, and able to adapt to a role where responsibilities are constantly changing.
While this position is based in the Netherlands, you’ll be joining an international team of journalists who help create, cultivate and curate the content that flows through LinkedIn. You’ll work closely with global editors across time zones and cultures, ultimately helping members around the world discover new opportunities to grow their careers.
Responsibilities:
Report on daily news with a business/economics/politics focus, write posts and build discussions, curating the best of members’ content
Writing strong and concise news roundups and headlines for LinkedIn's news products, such as the Daily Rundown
Proofreading editorial copy to check spelling and grammar
Coverage includes daily news with a special focus on jobs & career content
Collaborating with editors around the world on coordinated global projects & data-driven special reports, such as LinkedIn Top Voices, Top Startups, Top Companies
Keeping up-to-date with breaking and trending news, while monitoring the impact of your own work
Develop innovative and creative ways to serve our members with the content they need to land the right job and develop their careers (Video, Audio, Live, Newsletter, Editorial Notifications).
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
Experience in Journalism
Journalistic education, traineeship or similar qualification
Business fluency in Dutch and English in both written and verbal
Background in project-management and self-organization, entrepreneurial mindset
Experience in working with different media formats (i.e. social media/video and/or podcasts)
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with Dutch business news cycles
Journalistic expertise in job & career content would be a plus
Experience in Journalism, preferably in a newsroom/newsdesk setting
Active social media presence
Thrives in a place where things are ever-evolving
Experience working in a news or fast-paced media environment
Deadline-driven
Familiarity with LinkedIn news products and services.
