Job Description

Link Solutions is seeking a Data Engineer (Associate-Level) to join our team at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen 
  • Must have DoD Secret Clearance
  • Non-remote (relocation incentive available)

The Data Engineer (Associate-Level) will play a key role in supporting the III Armored Corps (IIIAC) at Fort Hood, Texas. In this role, you will assist in the design and deployment of data capture solutions, contribute to database management tasks, and support Agile delivery efforts across functional teams. You’ll help ensure data availability, support disaster recovery planning, and maintain secure access to information within a dynamic IT infrastructure.

Ideal candidates will have foundational experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases, and a working knowledge of data handling policies. Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-grade Power BI dashboards that support unit readiness, logistics, training, and operations.
  • Help in modeling large, complex datasets using star schemas and normalized structures to support scalable analytics.
  • Integrate and automate data sources from platforms including SharePoint, GCSS-A, IPPS-A, Vantage, and eFLIPL.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and iterate on reports using stakeholder feedback.
  • Develop and maintain refresh pipelines, gateway configurations, and PowerApps/Power Automate workflows.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • IAT Level II certification or higher in accordance with DoD 8570/8140 standards (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CISSP, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP).
  • Minimum of one to three (1–3+) years of experience working in Agile environments, with exposure to frameworks and a strong interest in Agile principles and team collaboration.
  • Understanding of ETL processes, data modeling, and data integration.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Java.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (especially AWS).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data governance.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform tools, including Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint.

Preferred:

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related IT field.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the full dashboard lifecycle, including concept development, deployment, and end-user training.
  • Experience with Power BI Gateway, Azure Synapse, Vantage, and Advana platforms.
  • Proficient in DAX, Power Query (M), and complex data modeling techniques.
  • Data Modeling experience: Star/Snowflake schemas, normalized structures
  • Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.
  • A problem solver and troubleshooter who thrives in resolving complex problems.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills. 
  • Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
