Job Description

Link Solutions is seeking a Computer Scientist to join our team in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. 

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen 
  • DoD Secret Clearance required
  • Non-remote (relocation incentive available)

The Computer Scientist will serve as a key contributor to mission-critical initiatives at the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Chemical Biological Center (DEVCOM CBC). This role involves applying advanced computer science principles to design, develop, and implement distributed systems and software solutions that directly support the Army’s research, development, operational, and cybersecurity objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop secure, scalable, and efficient software systems tailored to Army mission requirements.
  • Deploy distributed computing solutions that enhance DEVCOM’s capabilities in chemical and biological defense.
  • Create innovative solutions utilizing programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, or Go. 
  • Analyze organizational problems and design solutions to resolve them. 
  • Integrate developed applications with cloud platforms to increase efficiency and utilization of resources. 
  • Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot existing applications, computer systems, and networks.  
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to create innovative solutions to enhance DEVCOM’s mission. 
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate software tools into research and operational environments.
  • Ensure all systems meet stringent cybersecurity standards and performance benchmarks.

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret Clearance. 
  • BA/BS in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field. 
  • Five (5+) years of experience in software development.
  • Strong knowledge of RMF, JSIG, and system lifecycle security integration.
  • Proficiency in Python and tools for data wrangling, visualization, and statistical analysis.

Preferred:

  • DoD Secret Clearance
  • Ten (10+) years of experience in software development.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP infrastructure. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products. 
  • Experience creating and modifying documentation for technical processes and procedures. 
  • Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.
  • A problem solver and troubleshooter who thrives in resolving complex problems.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $150,000

Several factors influence the final salary or hourly rate, including but not limited to contract wage determinations, relevant work experience, role-specific skills and competencies, geographic location, educational background, certifications, and federal government contract labor categories.
