Job Description

this role will have management responsibility for the Settlements team within the department that are accountable for the settlement of all stock and cash trades placed by the Share Dealing team. This role will be split 50/50 between staff management, covering training, development and coaching etc, and strategic planning and delivery including the Prism system migration(s).

  • Management of post trade support to Share Dealing Front and Middle Office

  • Working with Senior Management on process improvements

  • Ensure that CREST is fully supported and we have the appropriate robustness around controls

  • Settlement of on market and off market residual securities

  • Liaising with direct reports to ensure all development / training plans and coaching of staff are implemented to maximise full potential and any concerns regarding team and individual performance are managed

  • Ensure staff appraisals and objective setting goals are carried out on a half yearly and yearly basis

  • Implement effective daily huddles for the Settlement’s department

  • Plan, monitor and co-ordinate workloads to ensure appropriate resources/skills within the team are utilised to maintain performance standards

  • Ensure that all office administration is dealt with effectively by direct reports.

  • Ensure full compliance with internal and external procedures and FCA Client Money CASS rules.

  • Regularly monitoring service levels, driving the department to ensure optimum performance

  • Monitor the effectiveness of working procedures and ensure that these are met by all staff

  • Monitor complaints to ensure that the integrity of our business and its clients are upheld

  • Analyse statistics highlighting and following up any causes for concern

  • Identify key risks facing Settlements and propose mitigation steps to manage those risks

  • Ensure key controls are completed within the month they are due and that any issues highlighted or addressed are followed through to resolution

  • Participate in Settlements’ business strategy planning.

  • Work with the Settlements’ management to establish a Prism Settlements team that will process Prism settlement across the department

  • Analyse statistics and Management Information highlighting and following up any causes for concern

  • Keep informed and up to date of the business issues to enable you to deal with internal/external issues
