This is a high profile role within the finance team and you will be the key contact for the Group Financial Controller (FC) and Chief Finance Officer (CFO). You will be fully responsible for all aspects of the production & reporting of group functions and overhead financials for Link Asset Services (LAS).
Leading a small team in Leeds and supported by groupwide management accountants in our business units you will be responsible for supervising accounting operations, including fixed assets and month end accounts, and for ensuring balance sheet reconciliations are complete, accurate and with any issues resolved in a timely manner. You will also be responsible for ensuring correct and robust financial controls are in place to satisfy the regulatory requirements of the financial services sector and play a key role in managing periodic audit requests.
You will own the month end and year end timetables and play a lead role in co-ordinating the returns for the group. You will also be responsible for analysing the monthly results and providing or co-ordinating commentary to the FC and CFO on the monthly result and working capital.
As a line manager you will be responsible for staff management including hiring, training, coaching and performance review in line with Link group policy. There will be an element of travel within this role, approximately every month, to our London and Beckenham offices primarily, to meet with the Financial Controller and the management accounts team.
Essential skills and experience
- Degree educated
- Qualified ACCA / ACA (or equivalent) preferred with demonstrable post qualification experience
- Audit experience desirable
- Strong excel, analytical and communication skills
- Must be willing to work as part of a team in a dynamic high quality, client service focussed environment
- Highly organised, strong interpersonal skills and self-motivated
