Job Description

The role of Supervisor is based within our Operational admin team, dedicated to one of our biggest and most important clients – Standard Life Aberdeen Plc.

The team are responsible for all aspects of registration maintenance and general administration work for the Standard Life Aberdeen register, working closely with other business areas to provide the very highest level of client-branded customer service to almost 1.3 million shareholders.

  • Ensure full compliance with internal and external procedures and FCA regulations including CASS rules and MiFID II rules.

  • Ensure that clerical tasks are dealt with effectively, i.e. holidays, sickness, Health & Safety etc.

  • Distribute work daily to team members to ensure that all work is completed in line with Link's Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) policy at all times.

  • Support new team members with training.

  • Ensuring that all team members are being developed to fulfil their potential.

  • Arranging for regular one to one/ team meetings to ensure effective communication.

  • Implement and encourage all team members to embrace system and cultural changes across Link.

  • Completing random checks on the team’s work to ensure a high level of accuracy is maintained. 

  • Being available to the team as a point of escalation and assisting team members in resolving contentious issues.

  • Regularly review the team’s performance and give the appropriate feedback on areas that need to be improved to ensure Link’s TCF policy is maintained.

  • Review and update department procedures with any changes.

  • Resolution of complex shareholder enquiries by telephone if possible or appropriate.

  • Support and assist other team members / business areas as necessary.

  • Undertake project work where required to do so by management.

  • Escalation of any complex / contentious cases to line manager.

  • Planning for busy / project periods to ensure work can be kept within working timescales.

  • Implementing any regulatory / procedural changes.

  • Required to complete their ICSA or IOC qualification within 2 years of entering the role.

Whilst this is a reflection of the role it is not exhaustive and employees will be expected to be flexible and take on activities outside of those listed from time to time. In particular, flexibility around our peak workload times is essential (March – June, September – October & December).

Qualifications

Required

  • GCSE Maths grade C minimum ( or equivalent)

  • GCSE English grade C minimum ( or equivalent)

  • Knowledge in Excel, Word & Outlook

    Desirable

  • FCA experience and awareness

  • Experience within the stocks and shares industry either within a brokerage or registrar environment
