Job Description

Purpose: The Consumer Education Specialist role is responsible for developing, launching and maintaining various pieces of educational content tailored for individuals with communication impairments and their care partners in various stages of their communication journeys. Content includes live webinars, online courses, Virtual Connections sessions, and printed/digital collateral. The content should be clinically focused and promote LG’s various resources. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Create new consumer webinar topics and manage a webinar calendar. 
  • Identify opportunities for new consumer educational content related to various diagnoses and communication impairments. 
  • Facilitate consumer webinars, Virtual Connections sessions, and virtual sessions with support groups across the country. 
  • Collaborate with Consumer Marketing Manager to create consumer campaigns around new digital download launches and incorporate content into upcoming campaigns and workflows. 
  • Identify opportunities to repurpose existing LG content into campaigns/additional consumer resources. 
  • Develop online consumer certification/education courses utilizing existing VC and webinar content. 
  • Track and analyze engagement and user metrics, understanding the impact consumer education offerings have on the rest of the organization. 
  • Curate resources and messaging promoting the consumer trial option to SLPs 
  • Provide virtual trainings and in-services for Consumer Evaluation SLPs to help support a growing consumer pipeline. 

Qualifications

Other Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Participate in Consumer Business Unit initiatives 
  • Track and report content engagement metrics on a consistent basis to Consumer Business Unit and rest of company, when applicable 
  • Develop content for various diagnoses, ages, and speech impairments 
  • Help recommend, review, and develop collateral and other materials for marketing and educational purposes 
  • Serve as the client voice 
  • Assist with other marketing initiatives, programs, and activities, as needed  

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience with Lingraphica technologies, including SmallTalk apps, TalkPath Therapy, TalkPath News, Quick Assess, and communication device, strongly preferred 
  • Proficiency with Zoom and comfort facilitating virtual webinar/courses/meetings 
  • Basic knowledge of common communication impairments 
  • Excellent organizational and content management skills 
  • Ability to analyze and summarize data as well as identify trends and areas of opportunity 
  • Creative thinker who can adapt to changes quickly and efficiently 
  • Excellent communication skills with both external customers and internal colleagues 
  • Passion for teaching and educating 
  • Strong presentation skills 
  • Proficiency with HubSpot, Microsoft PowerPoint/Excel, Slack, preferred 

Education & Experience 

Formal Education: 

  • Masters in Speech Language Pathology, required  

Clinical Experience: 

  • 3+ years clinical experience in speech pathology  

  • AAC experience, strongly preferred  

Continuing Education  

  • CEUs as needed to retain SLP license  

  • Awareness of latest advances in AAC industry including new disease states, diagnoses and treatment options for patients with aphasia, apraxia, and dysarthria.  

Additional Information

Travel Requirements:

Occasional travel required to national conventions, conferences, annual company meeting and team off-sites, within the continental United States, approximately 2 – 4x / year.
