Job Description
Purpose:
The Senior Manager, Consumer Sales (SMCS) is responsible for the daily operations of the Consumer Sales team and meeting its quarterly and annual goals. This role oversees a large team (15+ people) responsible for working directly with customers and a network of evaluating, third-party speech-language pathologists (SLPs) to help determine eligibility and medical necessity for a Lingraphica communication device. The SMCS oversees all facets of the consumer sales process to ensure the best possible customer experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Working closely with the Director, Consumer Business Unit, the Senior Consumer Sales Manager (SMCS) is responsible for the daily operations of the department, overseeing all three areas (Vetting, Training, and Evaluation). This role also works closely with other department managers to ensure timely movement of deals through the pipeline and a steady stream of consumer sales.
The SMCS is responsible for establishing best practices at every stage of the consumer sales process. This includes effective prospect onboarding, setting customer expectations, creating an optimal device trial experience, and efficient handoffs between teams. The SMCS monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) — such as aging reports, cycle times, and closed-lost ratios — facilitates team issue discussions and takes immediate corrective action. This position must fully understand every facet of pipeline throughput to effectively forecast monthly, quarterly, and annual sales projections.
The SMCS is also responsible for working closely with the Consumer Marketing Manager to ensure alignment between quarterly marketing and sales initiatives, and annual strategy.
Other duties and responsibilities include:
Think strategically and assess the effectiveness of department activities in achieving sales goals
Manage multiple projects at once, while maintaining Lingraphica’s commitment to quality
Manage all KPIs for the team to ensure the sales process remains efficient and issues/bottlenecks are identified quickly and resolved
Hold the teams accountable to all performance criteria and standards
Work across teams, departments, functions, and leadership to ensure results
Monitor team and pipeline performance and take corrective action when needed
Manage, coach, mentor, evaluate, and develop department personnel
Develop functional relationships with executives and other members of the management team
Ensure adherence to the budget for all team travel and expenses
Travel occasionally for industry conferences and events
Multi-task and successfully execute projects under a heavy workload, tight deadlines and changing conditions
Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The SMCS is responsible for managing three direct reports; the Consumer Support and Referral Manager and two Consumer Sales Managers, and developing the managers who collectively oversee the remaining department staff.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Minimum of 3 years’ sales experience
Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing multiple direct reports
Experience working with Lingraphica products/services
Understanding of healthcare reimbursement processes and policies strongly preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Exhibits strong leadership and team building skills, required
Excellent customer service skills and professionalism
Strong analytical skills and understanding of sales metrics
Highly organized
Exhibits strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills through both verbal and written communications
Ability to take on new challenges and work outside of one’s comfort zone
Ability to maintain proper, courteous, and helpful telephone/video conferencing etiquette
Ability to effectively interface with other teams and departments across Lingraphica
Knowledge of AAC
Computer Skills: Office 365, Outlook, Slack, Zoom, HubSpot CRM preferred

Work Environment & Physical Demands:
This role may work from home and is expected to maintain a safe, productive work environment with secure internet access. Must be able to operate a computer with or without a reasonable accommodation. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. Position requires lifting overhead, twisting, bending, and squatting to lift boxes or office equipment.
Travel:
May work remotely from home. Travel to Princeton, NJ office may be required on occasion, up to 4x / year. Occasional travel (including weekends) throughout the year to industry trade shows.
