Job Description

Purpose: The Product Designer will be responsible for creating visually appealing and intuitive designs. Responsible for creating prototypes based on user testing results, ensuring the seamless translation of user insights into tangible design solutions. Strong communication skills are essential as they collaborate closely with developers to effectively hand off designs and ensure accurate implementation. This position will also assist in maintaining and building upon a design system for consistency, delight, and efficiency across team projects and visuals. 

Qualifications

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Design simple, intuitive, and consistent mobile and desktop applications across the web, iOS, and Android 
  • Conduct user research to identify user needs and preferences, ensuring designs align with target audience expectations. 
  • The ability to think outside of the box, try new approaches, and continually iterate based on data and user feedback. 
  • Utilize design system components to create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that effectively communicate interaction and design concepts. 
  • Apply design system principles to maintain consistency and scalability across multiple projects and platforms. 
  • Work closely with developers to ensure designs are implemented accurately and meet accessibility standards. 
  • Create a cohesive design system and style guidelines that cover all components of our apps. 
  • Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with the Product Managers and Engineers 
  • Help lead and participate in user research and usability tests, and incorporate the findings into design decisions 
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UX design, accessibility, and design systems. 

Additional Information

Education & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, or a related discipline. 
  • A portfolio of professional UI/UX design for both mobile and web platforms. 
  • Strong knowledge of accessibility principles and guidelines, including WCAG 2.1 and above. 
  • Experience designing products and experiences that create web and mobile accessibility and inclusion for people with disabilities preferred. 
  • Knowledge of and experience with wireframing and design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Balsamiq, Sketch, or similar tools. 
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS preferred. 
  • Experience working in an agile environment preferred. 
  • Strong communication, collaboration and analytical skills 
  • Possesses good time management, attention to detail, is self-motivated and takes ownership of responsibilities 

Work Environment & Physical Demands 

This role is a remote position, and the employee can work from home anywhere in the United States.  Incumbent is expected to maintain a safe, productive work environment with secure internet access. Must be able to operate a computer with or without a reasonable accommodation.  

Travel 

Travel to Lingraphica’s home office and to cities within the continental United States for company related meetings and conferences may be required 1-2 times per year.  The ability to travel for user testing 4 to 6 times per year, strongly preferred.  Note: Employees must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated to participate in in-person meetings and events, however an accommodation request for 100% remote work is available.

Work Schedule / Hours

Monday – Friday, 11 am - 8 pm EST / 8 am - 5 pm PST with opportunities for flexibility
