Job Description

We are on the look out for a Network Engineer to join our team! The Infrastructure Network Engineer reports into the Infrastructure Network team-lead.
The team is a function of the global infrastructure team and is responsible for the entire lifecycle of production network stacks across the Global Light & Wonder estate. Corporate networking is handled by a separate team.

What you will be doing

  • Building, supporting, maintaining and decommissioning on-prem and cloud network environments
  • Troubleshooting / describing / solving complex networking problems
  • Reviewing, evaluating, delivering and implementing security recommendations
  • Responding to zero-day vulnerability patching requirements
  • Working mostly with Fortigate, Cisco routing / switching, VMware and F5 BigIP technologies
  • Building on and improving existing network monitoring tools and dashboards
  • Regularly evaluating load and capacity in existing environments
  • Proposing specific upgrade or tech-refresh recommendations, producing network diagrams, BOMs and eventually implementing recommendations
  • Maintaining device configuration backups
  • Maintaining IPAM, DNS/Domain registrar and CDN/DDoS protection
  • Maintaining on-prem ISP circuit technical relationships
  • Maintaining network documentation
  • Able to be part of a 24X7 on-call rota.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience working with complex networking infrastructure stacks
  • CCNA/CCNP certified / Degree in a related field are considered a plus
  • Have worked with Fortigate, Cisco (F5 BigIP, Palo Alto are considered a plus)
  • Experience with Fortianalyzer and Fortimanager would be considered a plus
  • Used Cloudflare, Imperva WAF/CDN
  • Familiar with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Used Grafana, Zabbix, Prometheus, Splunk
  • Used Ansible / Terraform and Git are considered a plus
  • Troubleshooted networking problems on Windows and Linux server OSes
  • Worked on VMWare networking
  • Worked on high-volume / high-speed transaction systems
  • Previously supported redundant active/active stacks and DR stacks
  • You are familiar with ITIL framework
  • You understand the meaning of owning things, seeing them through and being accountable
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-cultural, globally distributed team.
  • Able, from time to time, to work on high-profile changes outside of normal working hours.
