Job Purpose

We are seeking a passionate, experienced Head of QA to join us on our journey to revolutionise how we drive quality within our games and game server platform technologies. You will have prior practical experience of manual, performance, and automated functional disciplines and more recently have led multiple teams in a fast paced, high delivery cadence environment. You will closely collaborate with Studio leadership to mature our agile quadrant 2, 3 and 4 capabilities whilst evangelising and driving forward shift-left policies through building collaboration between Dev and QA.

What will you do?

• Own the QA processes across game and platform development.
• Collaborate with Heads of Engineering and wider Studio leadership to shape, roadmap, and drive adoption of Studio wide QA practices.
• Ensuring game (web/mobile) and game server platforms meet functional, non-functional and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Ensure web and mobile platforms that fully integrate into both bespoke built and SaaS solutions.
• Standardise game and platform regression packs across QA teams.
• Devise and action the introduction of automated functional tests across game and platform.
• Accelerate functional, non-exploratory verification activities.
• Evolve our existing performance, load, and security testing capabilities.
• Identify and escalate issues or areas that need improvement.
• Able to provide mentoring and guidance for other QA Analysts.
• Implement accessible test traceability reporting.
• Challenge the status quo.
• Maintain living documentation reflecting our QA process and practices.
• Experience of developing training and team development plans to drive performance across multi-skilled teams.
• Help raise the profile of Studio QA by providing visibility and education of QA process and promoting continuous improvement within the team.
• Establish and evolve QA processes and controls, ensuring that the team is using industry-accepted best practices and metrics to ensure quality goals are met.

You will ideally bring several of the following.

• Experience leading and collaborating with geographically distributed teams.
• Proactively drive test automation to improve upon product quality and accelerate value delivery.
• An ability to influence both within and outside your reporting line.
• Experience of working within both manual and automation testing environments.
• Knowledge and exposure to test methodologies such as Behavioural Driven Development.
• Experience of web and API (Application Programming Interface) test automation tools.
• Demonstrable transformation of QA from Waterfall/Gated to Iterative/Agile approaches.
• Experience of working within fast moving, regulatory sensitive markets.

• 5+ years of leading and managing high velocity QA teams.
• 5+ years of being a QA professional (non-managerial).
• ISTQB Foundation and above Certifications would be advantageous.
